I was watching the news today and there was someone who ran from a bondsman. They locked down the schools in the area and did not tell the parents what was going on. Some of the parents found out by watching the new. They stated on the new that the guy might be armed and dangerous. What do you think about the schools not contacting the parents on that kind or situation. Me personally would be pissed. I think no matter what the parents should be notified if there is a problem like that. Something serious could have happen. Come to find out that the guy was later found and arrested right across the street from the school. That just tells me the schools are not doing what they should to provide saftey for our children. That is very scarey. I am not talking about high schoolers i am talking about an elementry school. What is your thought on that situation? Would you want to be notified right away or find out that information on the news?

Hell yes i would want to be notified! Parents have a right to know if there is something that happens at the school that may put their children at risk. And the schools should have a calling tree or something prearranged to let every parent know if that changes. If the school is on lockdown, if there is a fire, whatever it is that affects the school, the parents should be told immediately. I freak out if the bus is a few minutes late and I'm calling the school to see what's going on. I would be the first at the superintendents office banging down his door if the school was put on lockdown and i wasnt notified. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!
