I have recently written an articale on captioned to one of website. Genrally meaning of a house and home is very close and almost similar. A house is a structure or shelter, it could be a millinoiear's bunglow or a poor shaby hut in a remote village. House becomes ahome when some or family living there. Feeling and warmth is there. Home is dream hwrer you feel like returning at the end of hard work and house is the address.

I believe house and home are not similar. A house pertains to the shelter where a home is housed actually. Having a family inside a house does not necessarily make this place a home. There must be love and harmonious relationship in that family before we can call it Home. Do you know the song: "A house is not a home"? Well look how this song explains the meaning of Home: A chair is still a chair Even when there's no one sitting there But a chair is not a house And a house is not a home When there's no one there to hold you tight, And no one there you can kiss good night. A room is still a room Even when there's nothing there but gloom; But a room is not a house, And a house is not a home When the two of us are far apart And one of us has a broken heart.

A home is warmth and filled with all we love, home for me is very much with my children, take those kids out of my home then my home becomes brick and mortar meaning nothing to me at all, just a house.

Hi mokbul The family and its love, warmth, concern for each other, the bond of love make us a HOME. House is just a material structure without life. It could be palatial, it could be a hut but still not a home until a family starts to live and love. HAPPY LIVING.

I agree with you. I always look forward to a home and not to a house. We can always be in a house whenever we want. We can go to a relative and ask them whether we can stay with them in their house. If they agree, we get a house for shelter. But a home is a place which is not everybody will get. We have to put effort in it so that it will become a home. Warmth is the most important thing. I always miss my home whenever I am away because my home is the most comfortable place to be. My husband feels the same thing too. There is no place better than home. When we live inside our home we feel so peace and calm. I think this is because love is present in our home. Where there is love in a house, it will be a home.
