Do you ever feel like you are always the bad guy. You are the one who holds them down while the Doctor jams a shot into their leg. You are the one who puts them to bed when they are having way too much fun to sleep. You are the one who makes them eat their veggies even when they don't like them. You are the one who tells them no. You are the one who makes them brush their teeth. You are the one that makes them put their shoes on before the go outside... its always you. And then their is super dad. The super fun friend who never does anything wrong. Am I alone, or are there some other villains out there?

But when they get older and they need real help you will be the one the come to because you will be the one they know will be there. In good and bad. And they will know you will know how to handle there problem because you always did fix everything. Not dad.

Thanks... you don't know how much that comment means to me. Especially tonight... while dad is out with his friends and mom is home with a VERY VERY VERY sick baby. I really hope my son knows how hard I'm trying even when I can't fix things.

trust me they will understand we they get older just keep doing what you are doing and for a while you will be kinda the bad guy, but some day you will be the person they look up to.

I know you're not alone. My mom used to talk to me about this when I'd ask her questions about how my dad was when we were very young. She said she had to do everything, including the things we didn't like, but when my dad would come home it was 'fun time.' We'd just soak up the attention because we hadn't seen him all day, and then the next morning it would be her turn to be the 'fun killer' and the person in charge once again. That has got to be frustrating.
