I tried one before. i took a physics distance ed class and did well enough but I didn't enjoy it. I didn't learn from my lessons too. Though the curriculum was structures, it's just different from being able to learn in the classroom setting which I very much prefer over studying on my own. I think it has to do with your personality too. Maybe it'll work out for you. :) Good luck if ever you pursue this!

Hi thanx for the responce. I am the type of person that likes studying myself. I hate sitting in a classroom listening to a prof talk. I prefer to just read the books myslf. I think it also depends on what your taking. Something like physics is more hands on then book studying. I think that that course would be better taught in a classroom! I find that in a classroom i cant concentrate because you always got that one person who is alwyas talking or joking around. I find that distracting. I prefer to lay in my bed and read books!

Distance learning is offered by many legitimate institutions. I know that the University of Florida and Cornell University both offer Distance learning. I think that if you do take courses at a legitimate institution you will learn a lot. For this to be applicable in the real world, make sure you can apply those courses to a degree. A degree really does help you open the doors in the professional world. You should go for as long as it is a course that can help you or that you can apply to a degree.
