Just in time for the holidays comes another great idea. Those extra cd holders you have laying in the drawer (the paper ones with the little window) become a special gift with a little decoration and adding one of your home baked cookies! My friend shared this idea with me. If you have to have a small inexpensive gift these are ideal. You can buy preinked stamps at the dollar store to decorate them with! I am giving them to my son and family for Halloween but giving one to everyone in my whole family for Christmas! Tons of fun!

That sounds like a great idea. Where would you get the holders as I have none? I'm going to be baking later today as the wind and snow are here. Your friend onlydia

At walmart or any place by where they sell the empty cd's etc...they are cheap too...all you have to do is put a little decoration on them....and they turned out so cute! I am doing a bunch for christmas!

You can decorate old cd's and turn them into ornaments too. I found instructions to make some really pretty ones.

CD Case/holder - Made this holder with plastic canvas, 7 mesh and yarn. Keeps my cd's protected.
Now that's a cute idea. You always have such great idea for many different items/gifts. I like to keep things in order so here is what I made for myself for my cd's. Plastic canvas is my fun craft. I measured and cut out a piece of plastic that has an opening in front so the label shows through and lined the holder with cotton or batting. Am going to attempt to load one of the bright holders I made for myself. This keeps my music and also photos of our grandkids in a safe holder and protects the cd from scratching. These are single holders but eventually am going to make double or triple holders. Just haven't taken the time to make them.

I used felt to line the inside of the case, not batting. My mind is pickled from being sick. I made cd's, when I had time on my computer, and put in the case and gave as a gift. Worked well but was so time consuming. Forgot to make cookies and put on top.

This is a pretty interesting idea. I used to make these Monster Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip cookies and they would probably fit great into these holders because they made nice, round, very large cookies. I would have to dig through my recipes for hours to look for that particular recipe! This idea does bring forth all sorts of interesting ways you could decorate the CD sleeve, doesn't it? Thanks for a great suggestion.

Actually the cookie doesn't have to be that big...I thought that at first too so made mine a little bigger....they actually got too fat. But for circumference you don't need that that big around by the time you wrap them in saran wrap or a baggie.

That sounds like a cute idea. It makes giving a single cookie to someone seem like a bigger deal. I noticed in one other response that you said your cookies got too fat. I make my cookies extra big all of the time and one thing I have learned is to take them out about halfway through cooking and take a flat bottom bowl and press the cookie down a little bit. It really helps the cookies bake more evenly and they are not as thick when they are done.

Thank you so very much! I was wondering how to get them a little bigger and not so fat! They will fit better in the little pouch if they are thinner.

Oh, and I should add that if you are making peanut butter cookies they turn out better if you spray the bottom of the bowl with Pam and smash them down before you start cooking them. I push down and then twist the bowl so that it comes off easier without pulling the cookie back up with the bowl.

This is a great idea. Another is old candle jars with lids. Add the ingredients for cookies and seal it with directions for cooking as a gift tag as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
