I've had to reduce our budget as my husband has been in hospital for almost a month, so no income from him and hospital bills equals tight budget! I haven't soft drinks at all this month, except for yesterday. Also snack are now homemade, I can make a large batch of cookies cheaper than buying a pack that with four kids only lasts a couple of minuetes. We have cut our meat down as well plus I buy cheaper fruits that are bruised so they don't look so good but can still be eaten, if they are too bad I make pies. We don't get DVDs any more and haven't been out for a couple of months to eat. It is tough but the kids are learning to live a more simple life and enjoy things that aren't on a screen. Less TV, no cable, less DVDs etc means more reading (librarys are free) and more time playing!! So tough but good for us!

We don't really have a budget and this has hampered our family finances but we make do with what we have and we seem to be surviving. Cheers!!

Yes, I have moved to a new home closer to my job. By making this change I am saving $250-$300 each month. The water I drink is from a good water filter I have I don't spend money in water any more.

Yes, you are doing all the things we are doing. The only problem we have as far as reducing what we spend is the upcoming cold weather and my gf's daughter who turns up the heat and refuses to understand that we can't afford that. She and her boyfriend spoend money like there's no bad economy at all. It's a constant battle, checking the thermostat constantly and turning it back down. The good news as opposed to last year is she has a full time job so I don't have to worry about it being turned up all day.
