October 24, this is my first born boy 5th birthday. To me and to my hubby this is a very exciting day, we have no plans yet on how to celebrate it and we did not planned for a party this year, unlike last year where we had a costume for him (in time for Halloween) maybe eat out later. But we planned on surprising him when he wakes up later (it is 3 in the morning here in my country) hubby bought a cake and some balloons (which we called helium as code names ha ha) and before I do mylot, I put some air on the balloons, such a tiring task, we have no air pump! my hubby bought a balloon set with a pump included, a pump that is so hard to use. My hubby is really excited about this birthday and he even helped with the balloons which he does no do often. We really are, though we have three kids now, our first born son really hold a special place in our heart, not that he is our favorite (because we have none) its just that he is our first born. you know the excitement of having a kid of your own, and we really have a hard time with him then (he is colic baby). so i Guess that is the reason why, even though it is his 5th birthday, hubby and I are still excited, because 5 years ago, on this day, I gave birth to our first born baby. Writing about it now, makes me feel so blessed to have him and I can't help but smile and think how time flies, it was like a minute ago when my boy is so little and still feeds on me, and now he is 5 and so naughty and smart. I am so excited! I can't wait for the time that he wakes up, I am excited for him to see the balloons we have prepared, and to see the cake his dad bought for him (his favorite flavor)OH I think I will just have to spend more hours here to ease the excitement How about you guys? do you get excited with your kids birthday?

My only son's 1st Birthday - This photo was taken 21 years ago! It was when my little angel turned one year old. It was a very big party. All our relatives, friends and the whole neighborhood were invited to join the celebration.
Oh happy birthday to my cyber grandchild! Who could be the happiest but his Mom and Dad of course. From the looks of it's gonna really be a PARTY! Ha!ha!ha! Yes, the parents are almost always the busiest and most excited in the preparation. Parents will do anything within their capability just to give the best celebration to their beloved child. Good that you really are taking effort to celebrate the 5th birthday of your eldest. Kids are kids just once and the good memories of their childhood will help them build self confidence and keep the feeling of security. So I really believe their birthdays have to be celebrated! It could be really "bongga" if we can afford but if could be very simple if the budget is tight. What is important is it has been celebrated and given due importance as a sign that the child is loved and also a way of thanksgiving! We also did celebrate every childhood birthdays of our only son with unforgettable parties. The biggest ones were when he turned one year old, seven years old and twelve years old. All the other birthdays were within the family circle only... simple but memorable and filled with fun. After 12 years old, it was my son himself who opted for simple birthdays celebrations and the last biggest one after the 12th birthday was the recent 21st birthday which was held last May!

Oh you uploaded the photo correctly and you made me crave for that cake. I in fact left a comment on the photo. It's okay to have simple celebration what is important is the way you will show you kid that his birthday is special! That will really make him happy! Again, happy birthday to him! Cheers!

Oh thanks! OH no it is not a big party, no visitor at all.. can't find the time to organize a party, been busy mylotting I really can't since we have no helpers, we might just go out tomorrow and visit some parks along Roxas and got o Divisoria to buy a barong for him, he is to be a coin bearer to my best friend's wedding. I was planning on surprising him this morning, I decorated the room with balloons and make some cardboard greetings, intend to wake him up with a cake on my hands, oh well so much for that, they woke up earlier than me..

Hi there pehpot! I do not yet have a child of my own. I am still single but my boyfriend and I already have plans of getting married soon. Anyway, Happy Birthday to your angel! Since I do not have a child of my own, it's actually the birthdays of my nephews and nieces (my cousins' children) that get me excited. I have always been known to my cousins as the Super Aunt. My nephews and nieces love having me around and well, the feeling is mutual.

Happy birthday!!! haha =D Not only u and your hubby will be excited on his birthday, but he himself will be more excited.. haha ^_^ BEcause it's the time whereby he gets to eat alot of good food and has frenz to play with him.. hehe =D And for parents, no matter how many birthday your son is gonna have, u will always just be as excited, and though as he grows up, he might not be really looking forward to celebrating it at home, but still, u will still be preparing something for him ^_^ For in the parents heart, their own kids will never grow up, and that they will always be a kid to them ^_^ hehe Send my greetings to your happy son ^_^ HAve fun!!

Hi there pehpot My eldest is going to be 8 in January and I am looking forward to his actual birthday so we can celebrate and have some fun and I also enjoy seeing my son happy and excited. He is having a party on the Saturday after because his birthday is on a Wednesday and that is the day they all go back to school after the Christmas holiday! I am not really looking forward to that because there will be alot of 7-8 year old boys running around no doubt out of control and there is a lot of organising to do but I will get through it!

Yes,at times I do get excited of birthdays. My wifes birthday is the 28th and I am'doing the best possible to see she has a Happy Birthday. She is Chinese and many Chinese do not treat their birthdays as special.(but,it can be questioned, and doub ted)My wife will be just over, the half way mark in life.In China, this is old in lif e as is after any age over 35 years old.In the states,we do celebrate birthdays as we enjoy marking and remembering them as special days,in ours and their lives. When the children were small,we tried to always have parties.Mostly the 16th birthday is very important for some girls.

my eldest daughter celebrated her 3rd birthday last october 8th, we did not have any party because we were short on budget but her day is not short of special things..we went to the church, we went to the mall and bought her balloon and cake..she wore her new dress and i can see that she was very happy on that day...she even ate lots of ice cream..her favorite! unlike her two birthdays...this one is very solemn and really focused on her and we did not got broke with expenses...it is very true..firstborn baby holds a special place in our heart...in my heart..she is not my favorite child because all of them is my favorite..she is just a special child...and forever she will hold that place in my heart until i die.

I really do not have a kid, but I am a proud aunt of my first ever nephew. His birthday is on the 3rd of November and I believe that his parents are busy preparing, they informed me that they will have Jollibee the mascot visit the celebration. I am also excited to see the smile in nephew's face. He will be two on november 3.

Yes I do still get excited for my childrens birthdays, although with my eldest not so much as he is 17 now and no longer gets the same joy as he did when he was little. My youngest child is 2, she will be 3 in December and she is really excited about her birthday, her excitement is infectious and I find myself getting really excited about it too, and the fact that it is two days after christmas makes it more exciting.

Even though I don't have my own kid yet, I always feel excited for my nieces' or nephew's birthday. I always feel like it is my birthday too and glad that hey, they are growing up so well. Happy 5th birthday to your kid!
