We've all been hearing and seeing a lot of bad things about the housing market about how people are being foreclosed on, and other things about predatory mortgage lenders and how people are going in to debt and I guess my question is to those of you who are interested in buying a house but everyone is more then welcome to respond, anyway my question is dose hearing and seeing all these awful things happening to people make you change your mind about buying a home?

Hi there apples99
I don't think I will ever be in a position where I will own my own home but if I was right now then now would be a good time to buy in the respect of getting a cheapish house as house prices are starting to go down due to the current economy. I would be very choosey about which mortgage lender I would go to though!

Hey there humbug25. Iv been doing some research on buying houses because in the future I plan to buy a house, and through my research I learned that its important to make sure you have a good mortgage lender like you said, and also make sure that you fully understand what kind of mortgage contract your signing, and the best kind of mortgage to get is a 30 year fixed rate (not) an adjustable rate because the adjustable rate gives the lender room to raise your monthly mortgage payments after a certain period of time and that would not be good if your living on a budget.
