I am thinking of buying one for myself. For those who have been using this already, what are the pros and cons? Would you recommend it to others?

Before you buy a notebook you must determine what is your real purpose and what is your budget. If the notebook that you buy is totally justified your purpose than it will brings you a great benefit for a few years to come. Because notebook is different than PC, and it cannot be easily modified plus the part price also expensive than you must consider it carefully before you make a decision. For me, if you the travel type of person then please proceed to have a notebook. Else, it's more comfortable to use a PC at home.

Hi, thanks for your input. Yesterday I checked them out in computer stores and had a feel of them, that is if I will be comfortable. The specs are fine with me since I will just be using it for basic documents, play Sims 2 perhaps and do some photo editing for digiscrapping. But when I tested them, I have decided that I will opt for a 14 inch laptop- almost same price but better specs and monitor. Yes, the monitor or the netbook bothered me after all. So it was really nice to go and have a look and really try typing and looking at the screen if it will suit you.

I wouldn't buy a notebook myself but that's my personal view. Notebooks are limited in that there's not that much you can do in the way of upgrades. Now, if you are talking about buying a desktop then this is far better! It's likely that you will have some upgrading capability and that's what you want. You will pay a higher price for a laptop that has the same specifications as a desktop as regards performance. I think it's better to go for the desktop unless you really insist on carrying your computer around with you. Good luck Andrew

If I were to buy a netbook, I'll buy a via chipset of HP mini laptop. It is the netbook I have observed that its OS is windows vista and if you want it to be xp then its much faster. Netbooks are easy to carry but it don't have a n optical drive. That the big difference if you compare to bigger laptop. Its processor is not that fast don't expect it's speed would like a dual core or core 2 dou. The keys are so small but if you use hp mini laptop is much better because it is bigger than asus eee pc. It has 120 gig hard disk space, built in wifi/cam a and etc.
