That spiders have eight eyes? I just found out a few minutes ago. Hehehehe. It's just that i got bored coz we just had an office memo that we cant do any nonwork-related stuff (ahem, mylotting). But i get bored, so i research on anything, which acceptable coz we work on scientific stuff. So i did a little research on spiders. And that's the strange stuff i learned. that they have 8 eyes. Do you know this already? Or are you just like me, first time to know that spiders have 8 eyes? Hope we all learned something new today. PS:I'm just sneaking some posts every now and then.

Well i already know bout the Spider havin 8 eyez' since i waz in 7th Grade..' Yeah itz kinda interestin to hear that if you hear it for the first time..' But then you'd Gradually discover..' Nearly a large no. ov insects have special traitz' n different no. of eyes..' These are called Compound eyes'.. Spiderz' well are really creepy.. n Frankly speakin..' A not so Beautiful Spider would rather scare me... ' :D So well that was the little amount ov' knowledge i could give ya..' Keep Smiling' :)

Yep i did know about the compound eyes, but i guess i wasnt listening about the spider's eyes. Hehehehe. Thanks for the additional information.

Really? I do not know. Well, I do not like spiders. They are dangerous. I prefer birds and butterflies. They are cute and not harmful. In our places, there are lots of spiders but I have not tried cacthing them even once.

Most spiders have four pairs of eyes on the top-front area of the cephalothorax (their head, non-scientific language, Hehehehe), arranged in patterns that vary from one family to another.

Hey hey , I had no idea until i read your post LOL. that is kinda freaky . i dont see any eyes . i suppose they are so small LOL. wow ! Just makes ya wonder what else we dont know about those creepy animals . usually we just have small ones around here , but the big ones freak me out , bc they can kill ya with one bite .

Yeah, i havent really seen a little spidey upclose to see if they really do have 8 eyes. But if you search on wiki, they'll show a tarantula with it's 4 front eyes. Hehehehe.

I didn't know it either. Anyway, thank you for sharing that with us here. Be careful in sneaking some posts while on the job....hehehe. I do that also, but you have to be alert all the time because the boss might catch you. I am lucky that my boss never looks at what i am doing. My work requires me to be on my computer all the time, transcribing minutes of meetings and hearings. There are times also that i get bored , and sneak into mylot and posts on discussions.....hehehe Good luck to both of us.(not to be caught)

HEhehehe. Yeah, i too face the computer 8 hours a day coz i copy edit articles, but they've got spyware, so really should be careful. They get copies of the sites we visit and do screen shots from time to time. Yikes! Good luck to us. HEehee!

Eight eyes! That is news to me. But then, I don't think I ever want to get close enough to one to find out. I love little tidbits of information like this. I always keep these factoids in mind--you never know when they will come up on Jepoardy!

Really? I always thought that spiders have only two eyes. That's sure an interesting thing. It's my first time to know that spiders have eight eyes. It's kinda cool. No wonder spiders always run away so quickly when they see me.

hey stop sneaking posts evedy now an dthen or eight pairs of eyes will be watching you and if you get caught 8 times you just might be competign with the spider. Better be careful.

I never knew that spiders have eight eyes but that explains how they manage to get away from me so quickly when I try to kill one. We have spiders here in Florida that are as big as your hand. Ick...

oh ,my friend ,i had to tell you that spider is my most scaries animali in this world,,i don't know why i afrid of it ,my friend always laugh me 'why spider is your enemy? i don't know ,i just know i have been avoiding see it when i was a little girl,,,you said that even has eight eyes,,the results really make me more scared than even befroe,,,it looks i must care of it more,,,, acually spider is small, inconspicuous arthropods which are harmless to human ,,their benefit role in keeping insect populations.and good to human ,,but some of them still bite peole ,,,,, so that is why i afaid of it ,,

Wow, a spider have eight eyes? i dont know that until i came upon this discussion topic. Its interesting that a spider have eight eyes, probably it is the only insect that have eight eyes? awesome. I guess that are many out there that dont know a spider have eight eyes! its great that you have shared this with us and hopefully everyone here learn something new today.. cheers
