I had just looked out my back door to see what my husband was doing.... Just as I looked he tripped over the dogs line and fell up the two steps and stumbled to the ground after hitting his head off the corner of the grill...He grabbed his eye and it was bleeding..Of course I was like holy crap...You need to get ice on that asap..He has a cut that did bleed for a bit above his eye near the eyebrow..and his eye immediately turn black and swelled up...I cried... Talk about scary..He saw he doctor today and they want to x-ray his head to make sure he didn't crack his cheekbone... He didn't black out..Thank goodness..but I did make him lie down with an ice pack and just monitored him for a few hours...He is up and about but we are still going to get x-rays done..He says his vision is blurry.. I hate those stupid lines my dogs are tied out on..Just to go pee and poop...but still they pose a tripping hazard...so I am going to enclose an area off the deck so they can just go down the steps and do their business and not have to worry about being tied and we don't have to worry about tripping and killing ourselves.... When my grandsons are here they are not allowed to be around the dogs when they are on their line...just for that reason..I am so afraid they will trip.. Keep my hubby in your thoughts..Hopefully all will be okay..

Oh Feona, that does sound scary..I lefted your husband up, I pray he didn't break his cheekbone and that he is on the road to recovery.. We have a dog run, which can also be dangerous, especially for children because the line get wrapped around the neck, so I tell my son he is not allowed around the dog while she is on the line..We can't afford a fenced in yard, but the dog is rarely on the line when my son is out anyways.. Update us and let us know how he is doing..

Thank you so much for your prayers....He gets his x-ray monday..I am definitely going to make an area just for them..Especially with winter coming, I don't want anyone slipping on ice or anything...I will let you know how it all went...thanx again for your prayers

Thank you Lakota... I am thinking of just closing off a space enough for them to go do their business..I walk them out front for exercise... My neighbor put in a chain link fence by his house next door..That was $800.00 but he had someone do it so he paid for labor too! I have a huge backyard and they do go out without a line but only when I am there.. Thank you for your prayers and energies...It always helps....

Good thing the injury wasn't more serious...perhaps the dogs own potty area would be the best thing. I hope everything works out. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

Thank you...I think their own potty area is a super idea...I have been trying to think how I am going to do it..It doesn't have to be very big..Just enough to do their business and get in the house....

I know just what you mean about those dog lines! I had one years and years ago and my dog had wrapped his line around my ankle and no matter how hard I tried to get loose, I couldn't and the thing burned my leg as my dog kept going. It hurt like hell!! It didn't look like much of anything at first but the next day it looked really bad!! It looked like I'd lose my ankle and foot but thanks to triple antibiotics and gauze, I was able to keep the infection away. I should've went to the doctor for it but I didn't because as long as I had it under control, I didn't see a need to. I hope your husband gets to feeling better soon!

hi fenoa I will keepyou both in my thoughts and hope your husband didnt do any serious harm, and nobody else trips. I tripped three years ago in back of my favorite restaurant, fell on my shoulder and smashed the bones badly. iNstead of a nice breakfast I endedup in first emergency room, then x raythen in a hospital bed, then in surgery for they had to replace my whole shoulder joint so now I am a bionic woman lol.So am hoping your hubby willbe okay and recover quickly too.
