i'm putting my money on a pair of miami heat rookies to vie for the rookie of the year award. the first one is michel beasley who i think will make an immediate impact in the heat. considering how thin the heat line-up is this season, beasley will get the minutes and a lot of touches in the offensive end to put up a lot of good numbers. another heat rookie who i think will do well is mario chalmers. he is a good pick by the heat and quite a steal in such a late part of the draft. i think these two rookies get a legitimate shot at roy award barring any injuries. of course, they will play a pivotal role for the heat to reach the play-offs. just my thoughts. cheers!!!

Ultimately offensive numbers win awards. Oden is too defensive oriented on a defensive minded team so he's not going to put up he high points numbers. Rose has a shot but he will be splitting time with all the guards on Chicago so you never know what he's going to be able to put up over an entire season. Beasley has the best shot to win it because hes going to become the default number 2 to Dwayne Wade. Also don't forget about OJ Mayo who will get a ton of playing time and Rudy Fernandez of Portland who may slide into to the starting lineup with Martell Webster injured.
