My youngest daughter is amazing. Prior to getting her driver's license she stated she was going to buy her own car as soon as she got her license. I tried to convince her that it may not be economically possibly to do so right away but we would try to help her. She was so determined she immediately set up a savings account and started penny pinching. Within a few weeks after getting her license she told me she had enough saved for a cheap car. On her own she began car shopping. I discussed with her different options. She found a mechanic who also sold cars. In his lot was a toyota camry that was to her liking. On her own she went to talk to the mechanic. He promised to call her back after he checked the vehicle out. Within a few days he said it was ready to be sold and she could go in for a test drive. She went on the test drive alone. During the drive she liked the car and told the mechanic that since they were driving she may as well drive to the bank and get the money. He agreed that she could do so. Not only did she purchase it on her own she also registered and insured it with no help from anyone. I am quite proud of her.

You have every right to be proud of her. She sounds like she is a very responsible adult especially since she is only 16. Most 16 year olds still expect their parents to do most things for them. I know college kids that depend on their parents for everything. You have done a great job raising her.
