nothing?
I had a good discussion the other day with my husband and he brings up how he grew up without mass media in his early life and that affected him in many ways as he had to work extra hard to understand what music is, what trends are and how social life affects a person.
As for myself, I was the opposite. I always had the television and radio to listen to. It allowed me to subconsciously see the world in every way and as I got the rounder picture I don't give a hoot about the specific things and/or certain changes. I can find anything in my tube and that's how it enabled me to see things as a category enough that I found myself not willing to participate sometimes because I already 'know' what's going to happen.
Thus, I found myself only involved in my selfish needs. That's a shame and I want to fix that a bit as I get a little older. How about you guys? Does mass media make you too 'smart' for your own good you rather do what you feel like doing then what you 'should' be doing?
