It's SO WINDY!

It is so windy here! If I had to guess I would say that it easily qualifies as a full blown wind storm. It seems like over the past five years or so the wind has become almost unbearable. I'm assuming this is due to logging, but that's a whole other topic. Is it really windy where you live? We have almost lost our garbage cans on the last two pick up days from the wind, we had to rescue them from the park across the street and the middle of the intersection. Has the wind ever taken off with anything of yours? If you don't have a problem with high winds, what's the worst aspect of your climate and why?

Yes I noticed here in Rhode Island the winds are just too much! Almost everyday is windy. It could be 70 degrees outside, but with the winds, it makes it feel more like 60 degrees! I also remember about 5 or more years ago....The winds were never this bad! When it was 70, it felt just like 70 or warmer.

For the last several days, yes. I moved my room around so I do not really have a TV working at the moment, but I think we have been hit by a cold front. We have gone from 70-80F weather to 55-60F weather within twenty-four hours, so that is the only explanation that I can come up with. A co-worker of mine was saying that there were branches falling on her roof and to the ground last night at her house because the storm was getting so bad. A lot of leaves are in the roadways, as well as very small branches, from what I have come across.

Heh Chicago is the "windy city" but I don't notice it most of the time. At times its very windy and especially when it rains. Our swing chairs in the backyard are actually tied down. Its worst when its cold and I'm walking to the bus station or something in the morning. My face feels so cold it almost burns and especially my nose and hands. Or when its blowing against you, aghh. I noticed some Halloween signs outside broken and knocked over from the wind probably, and unfortunately.
