What do you like eating when you're depressed?

I like to eat chocolate, or icecream, it sometimes makes me feel better :o. Have you got any comfort foods you would like to share? Or a creamy pasta :o

Whenever I am down, I will choose to sit down in my kitchen and take out some chocolates to munch on. Somehow, chocolates make me cheer up slightly and make me feel better. I usually accompany them with some hot chocolate, especially on a cold rainy day.

I was about to say the same thing. :) Chocolate is the greatest EVER! It is comfort food and makes everything seem better! Yay for chocolate! :)

Oddly enough I never realized until this summer that i do in fact have a specific comfort food for when I'm depressed..PIZZA..I LOVE to eat pizza when I'm having an episode or major bout of depression

When I have a bout I also crave pizza. I think it has something to do with the pepperoni and cheese combined with other things I like mushrooms and sausage on mine as well.

eating satisies u then i suppose u hve to eat..but when i am sad and upset i can go without water and food for days..it is bad for me too another extreme..your case you put on woeght my case i lose ..

Actually I don't actually put on any weight when I eat chocolate and icecream, im just very skinny with a fast metabolism or something. I think not eating makes me feel more upset, as its both being hungry and mentally depressed all at once. So i think there, eating helps to satisfy at least the basic needs of not feeling like you're starving and stuff like that. But yeah, its bad in either extreme if you eat too much or too little. I don't really overeat, its just that when I eat some chocolate it has some chemicals in there that make me feel a bit better for some reason, not that im totally happy, but its better than feeling worse :o

I go straight for the cheesecake when I'm depressed lol. And if there's no cheesecake around, I go forthe Lays potato chips. Not the healthiest of choices, for sure, but I consider them to be my ultimate comfort junk foods.

oh yeah cheese cake! :D I'm beginning to wonder if cream is some major comfort food, because its in cakes, and icecream, and stuff like that :o. I guess i could also say sugar helps :P

Chocolate too!!! I am one hell of a CHOCOholic. When I'm happy, Sad, Nervous, Depressed and whatever, I always turn to good 'ol mr. Choco. :)

i feel i get refreshed after having my chocolates. And best remedy is Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.

I pretty much eat anything I can get my hands on. Sometimes I won't eat at all which is never good right. There some moments when all I want are tacos and pizza, and that is normally when I am depressed or just slightly upset.

chocolate works for me, too. i think it does for most people, and maybe that's why in the Harry Potter series, chocolates help revive victims of dementors...dementors have the effect of making a person feel empty, like the life is sucked out of him/her. much like depression.

Whenever I am depressed I would start eating. Mostly I would prefer sweet things but I am not that choosy on type of food. As long as there is food on the table I would start eating endlessly. A year ago when I was in depression I lost appetite in eating but now my habit has changed drastically. I am not sure why is this happening but starting from July this year, I noticed that I am beginning to adopt a new habit. I eat whenever I am depressed, and the funny thing is I am really always hungry. That makes me want to eat more, and the more I eat I become hungrier. It was such a bad habit and because of that, I have gained a lot recently. I want to start a diet but didn't have the strength yet to do it. I have also promised with a friend that I would diet with her. Yes, I think I should do it soon. My most preferable food now is hot chocolate cake, straight from the oven. Yummy!
