My daughter and her friends are 15 and are going out together. They are all good girls and will not cause trouble. But I think this should be the last year for sure. I think that Halloween is for the little kids. Or at least younger than 15. They all picked out matching costumes already. So I have relented this year but that is it!! What do you think??

I think that trick r treating is for kids under the age of 12... Kids should dress up in the costume of their choice, preferrably their favorite character. That is a part of the ritual. Then you go from door to door, in competition with family and friends, collecting candy. Once you reach the teen age it's time to go to Halloween parties or scary houses or mazes. You should not dress up and be ready to go trick r treating! Once you become an adult, then there will be mascarade balls. You then dress up to win cash prizes for your costume. Now I will be honest... there were times when I would stand back and wait on my daughter or nephew to come back to me after knocking on a door to tell me what they got. I would wait a second, go to the door with the next crowd with a bag for some of what they got...lol... shame on me!

Ok laughing some more now!! Maybe this year at least you should wear a funny hat or put on some makeup to hide/fake your age. Just say you are tall for 13!! Oh and make sure your kids are just leaving and then yell 'Hey wait up guys' That should fool them!!!

I am also laughing to hard because I am picturing the past couple of Halloweens... and yes I was grown, in my 30's... I am 34! llollllll

I think you are right, but then if they are just having fun I do not see the harm, I had the same problem with mine, if she has friends could you talk into a pizza party with scary movies and for the to be on the custumes and hang out candy/ I do not know your budget but it could be a good idea if it is possible.

That will be a perfect idea for next year. This year they are all set to go with their costumes and whatnot. So I think I will wait till next year.

Is there such thing as being to old? lol I went when I was a freshman in college. ROFL. It was on a dare though. When I look back on it now I feel like a complete and total dummy. lol. I think around 12 years old should be the cut off for tricker treating. But I guess there is not a set age really.

I agree with you. Thanks for your concern, we live in a fairly small town and there will be 5 of them so they should be fine.

It's also a fun thing for teenagers to do with there friends and be a bit spooky. I think all the way upto 18 is fine. Once you turn 18, you should stop.

Really well ok then I guess then she is well within the range. I remember doing things as a group when I was a teenager was quite memorable. That is why I relented and said it was ok for her to go out this year.

Until they stop dressing up... They are probably going to a party anyways...

True enough I guess. I understand dressing up to go to a party I just don't really agree with them going out to trick or treat. I think they are too old now.
