I am riding a jeepney today going for work when the jeepney stop at a gasoline station for fuel refill when I notice the sign board of some safety guidelines like turn off cellphone, turn off engine while filling etc..... then I notice one passenger using her cellphone txting while on the other car the driver was calling somebody. This situation stick to my mind does Filipinos really does not know how to follow guidelines? What do you think?

I have also noticed that lots of times. I think it is the job of gasoline boys to remind drivers to turn their vehicles off when they refill their gasoline. Those signs were actually there for a reason. Jeepneys are asked to turn their vehicles off as a safety precaution because if the engine is still on it would countinue combustion of gasoline. I think no one would like a gasoline station to explode in flames. People are asked to turn their cellphones off when they are at the gasoline station because it was found out that using cellphones could cause gasoline to light up and i think it had already happened here lots of times already. I think some people dont really learn from other peoples experiences. If they dont care that much for their lives at least they should at least care for other peoples safety. I think the saying its really true that "its hard to teach old dogs new tricks". But i think there are really some who follow the rules and signs but i think there are really lots of them who dont care about it. :)

That it true, we cannot anymore teach old dogs new tricks because if we teach them they will bite as na. I don't think also that as gasoline boy we will always keep on reminding those thousands of Filipinos who are not law abider for it is very tiring that is the purpose of those sign board that we just have to read and follow.

It is because in other country they really implement law as LAW which cannot be broken that is why Filipinos are afraid to be caught.

Well, i think Filipinos living in the Philippines are not good law abiders... but Filipinos living abroad can be considered as model citizens... i just do not understand why... when i worked abroad... Filipinos wore seatbelts... and followed traffic rules but when then return here in the Philippines... they rarely follow the traffic rules...

yes, i agree that not only Filipinos are not good abiders...it just happened that we live here that's why we normally notice our fellows who are not following rules.. i also drive and go to gas stations, but i normally leave the gas station before sending a text message...i've also heard and seen pictures of cars that were blown up by fire while filling in gas to their gas tank...that's why i don't want that to happen to me as well... better safe than sorry ;)

A clean living. If we have a clean place it is so nice to look at and we will be admire by other countries as well. That is the question right now. Why don't we as Filipinos be like to others. A law abiding citizens. Even there are already commercials on tv regarding how to be clean in our sorrounding still we litter that is why we call those who litter as PIGS.....

i would just like to add another thing to this topic... i also hate it when i see people throwing garbage on the streets and complaining when it rains and the streets get flooded... if we don't want to have flood and if we want a better view of the city, we should start it from ourselves, by throwing garbage on the garbage cans...and not making the streets a huge garbage can... i get to admire Singapore when i stayed there... streets are clean, traffic is light, people follow traffic rules... i just we could be like that one day...
