Do you start a discussion to get answers for your personal problems?

I noticed that when someone starts a discussion, especially when touching on relationship, some of us would assumed that the discussion has got something to do with the poster's personal or professional problem. What do you think? When you start a discussion, does it mean you are trying to find solution/answers to your own problems or was it just merely a discussion that has nothing to do with you personally or professionally?

I have started quite a few discussion where i have asked for help for my persobal problems. I do not see anything wrong in asking for help advised when someone in trouble. I do not know today morning i got a very bad response from a person. she has critisized me for posting my problems here and have abused me.

I am sorry to know that you got a bad response, subha12. I know there is no harm done posting personal problems and asking for help. But sometimes, it just amused me when I started a discussion i.e. on relationship, replied I get mostly assumed it was my personal problems. Anyway, like I say, no harm done.

Not to find a solution... only I could find the solution to my personal problems, but sometimes, the opinions of others help in your summising a situation. Sometimes though, the discussions are "what if" and to do with friends and family rather than personal ones.
I really don't think anybody else can actually solve personal problems for you. We are all different and have different ideas about how to approach things, but advice is a different thing, and also, it's good to have someone listen.
Brightest Blessings.

I do sometimes posts discussions like that, specialy when it comes to family problems, even if I have an idea on how to solve it, still I consult users here, it's better for me to have good knowledge on what I am dealing with. All responses I have recieved are good to try and advices were easy to follow. This site for me is my other family who is willing to guide and support me for the better well being. So in my opinion telling the truth about our problems and discuss it here is a great way of collecting advices to follow. Take Care..LOL

Sometimes i do that.I try to consult other users here in mylot about my problems whethe its professional, personal, emotional or financial.getting an opinioon from other will not hurt and are definetely helpful. When were, ssad or emotional,we sometimes outlook things about our problems that other may see.Open-mindedness to other peoples ideas about a certain topic in our life is helpful. You might even bumped into a person with the a person who has the same experience like you do.Whether we accept these opinions, advises and help from our mylot users, its up to us to decide. If we want our fellow mylot users to elabborate their side,we could ask them to.Mylot is also a helping out community. We help each other grow and understand life by sharing our experiences and toguhts to others.

When I start a discussion it may not contain my own problem directly, but it may contain problem being faced by any of my near and dear ones. I think when members start a discussion, it does relate to or say it is based on some real problem(s), it is difficult to start a discussion on imaginary situations. Some users may start imaginary discussion, but there number would be limited, in my opinion.

Discussions differ in many cases, mostly would be more on asking advice or getting the right answer to their queries. But some, very noticeable, will just start a discussion out of earning point. Sad but true. That's why, if you will check some discussions with "NO RESPONSES", it's really out of this world topics.

Quite often I post personal situations in order to get the best take on it! I also encourage people to post their own situations or problems, it's nice to know that you're not in a mess alone; it's also good to know how other people has handled a certain situation that could aid in solving yours!

Ive noticed occasionally...that I thought the people posting the discussion were seeking advice...and then after posting and them posting a reply realised they were offering advice...yeah...weird... usually If I post something that sounds like a personal problem... it probably is...lorl XD but sometimes its not...

I post anything that I find worth sharing with mylotters here. Sometimes if I can't find solution to my personal problems I would air it out here and I am happy to get good advice from well meaning friends who are more knowledgeable on certain matters pertaining to whatever problems there are. They are many good and well learned members here so there is no harm getting free service from them for their counselling.

Hi, ellie26.
I have done both.... sought solutions to my own problems and written about some idea problem that was in my head.
Like you, I notice that it is usually assummed the person writing the discussion is talking about themselves.

I start a discussion when the fancy strikes me. The problem is my discussions seem to be relegated to the backwaters of discussions and seldom get noticed and responded to. These days I just respond to discussions. Cheers!!

yes, I usually write up topics, based on either what i believe, or any question I might have.
I read a comment some time ago on this site that said that if you are on this website, you should think about money, and just enjoy it and try to say what you would in normal life.
Cheers!
