What makes you do not choose basic research as you career?

Nowadays, so many people who learn life science at university prefer to go to companys after graduate .Only a few people choose basic research as thier career.
Some of my classmates said that a big company can give them more salary,some of people think that doing reseach in a lab will make them feel loney.So what about you? Would you like to devote yourself into basic research? If you will,what makes you will.If unwill,what makes you unwill?

i will,but my family don't agree me to do that,also my wife,i married,but no children now. my family don't offer me to stay the things that i stay to research at school,and i want if i have the basic money to live, and i don't want to think a lot for my family,but i don't do that,because my family don't offer me to do that

Yes! I will like to devote my life for the socity. I like to devote my life for those people who are the lower class of our socity. They need help from us. I am not going be a scientific research, I am going to become a research with the real lifes not only helping them with money or foods. I want to help them by giving employments to them for settel their life individual but arise a sprit to live for the socity.
I want to establish a NGO and form a group of those peoples which were devote their life for socity and work for the helpless peoples of the society.
