Who Will Be Top of the English Premier League, On Sunday 26/10/2008

Will Liverpool be able to top the premier league after the Chelsea match on Sunday.???????? We need an outright win and nothing else will do to take us top...
Chelsea would stay top if they win or the match ended up a draw and they way that they are playing right now they will be favourites to stay top. But we will see.!!!!

It is a tough tough fixture isn't it. I think given the current form, Chelsea are just a bit ahead of Liverpool. This season despite the injuries, they seem to have stepped up one gear which is frightening for the others in the top-4. But this year Liverpool has also stepped up one level haven't they. They have come back to win 4 times already this season and there seems to be a great deal of grit about them...
As the match is in Stamford Bridge, I expect Chelsea to nick it 1-0 and thus stay on top. But, I hope I am wrong :)

Yes, fantastic result for Liverpool. Though the goal was a bit fortuitous, I think Liverpool were great value for money. The two other best chances also fell to Liverpool with Gerrard testing the Chelsea goal from a long ranger and Alonso smashing the ball against the bar.

I don't see why Liverpool can't go all the way to the top of the BPL...but may be that will happen in 2 or 3 years from now...If you know what I mean. They are getting stronger and stronger by the day but winning the BPL this year..?? No way hosey...Their strength still rely on Stevie G and without him Liverpool are nothing...So if Liverpool is gonna be crown champion by the end of the season then Stevie G must be fit..and not to mention their super prized striker Torres. He to need to be fit in order to get the goals...

I see your point, the other top three contenders are really strong but I must point out (even though Gerrard and Torres are immense ) that this year Liverpool have beaten Man U with Torres and Gerrard on the bench. Chelsea were beaten without Torres. So there is a resiliance about liverpool this season, I just hope that they can stick it out and stay top.
