I gave birth to my little girl all alone [aside from hospital people] My husband was away in the army and I hadn't seen him for over 5 or 6 months. The first thing I thought when I saw my baby was 'My god she looks just like him.' To this day the thing that amazes me the most is how much she resembles him and no matter what that always makes me smile. It was nice to have a little piece of him when he wasn't around. I was thrilled that she was finally out...I went into premature labor at 28 weeks so I was on bedrest for the last 12..constantly with bh contractions which are just more annoying that anything. One thing you have to try not to do is hold your baby too much during the first few days. I couldn't stand looking at her all alone in her buggy at the hospital so I held her constantly...so for the frist 2 or 3 weeks she would only sleep when I held her which was horrible for my sleeping and also dangerous for her.

Well my first thought all 3 times was thank goodness that it is over.....LOL. Then of course my second thought was how beautifull they were. It is such an incredible feeling that you have after having kids. Then they grow up.....LOL.

My husband and I welcomed our first child April 6, 2008, a baby boy. My first thought was to thank GOD that all went well during my entire pregnancy. This was my first pregnancy and I'd heard so much of what could go wrong. I didn't have morning sickness, develop gestational diabetes or several other illness that happens due to being pregnant. My labor went fairly quickly. I did opt for the epidural, and the anesthesiologist got it right the first time. I didn't feel a thing. I was blessed to have my parents and sister with me at the hospital when I delivered. It was just a surreal experience for me. My husband and I have discussed the possibility of having another little one in the near future, but we'll have to discuss that more. I think my main concern is my age. I'll turn 38 this coming January on my next birthday. Is 38 too old to be having babies? Especially when your first one would still be in diapers. I just don't know about that one.
