How many mommies to infants or toddlers work from home?

I am a mommy to an infant and I've been trying so long to find a work at home job that I can do around a crying infant. I was just wondering how many mommies out there actually have a work at home job that they are able to do around their noisy babies or toddlers. If you do, what kind of job is it that you do? Are you happy with that position? Or do you think that there is something better out there?

I'm a grandma of two (2,4) and I work at home while I take care of them. Sometimes also have to take my grandson from school. When they are playing around I can have some appointments with clients. During the day I can answer emails, have some training calls and call some of my clients that are in need of a personal call. Most of the presentations are done at night. It is possible, go ahead. If someone wants to know about my job, send me an email. I'll be answering soon.

I still work from home, but my daughter is in pre-k now. She just started full day pre-k. Before that, I stayed at home with her and worked from home part-time. Part of the reason for the part-time work, was so that I could spend time with my daughter. You are very limited when working from home with an infant or toddler because most places want you to be able to provide a 100% quiet work environment, and that is something that most parents can’t guarantee. What I would recommend doing is taking a talent that you have and try to make money from it. I like to write, so I started doing freelance writing from home. Honestly, I would mostly work after my daughter was in bed. But, if I had a deadline, I would usually set her up at the kitchen table with a craft project and I would work on my laptop next to her. That way, I was close enough, but still able to work. Something that gives you the freedom to work when you want is best for parents with infants and toddlers at home.

It's hard - isn't it? It's like the million dollar question. When I had my first daughter, I started doing a catalogue delivery - it was called Betterware and gave quite good commissions. I took my daughter with me, and the pram held the catalogues! I did it for quite a while, and as long as you don't mind walking out in all weathers, it was good. Other catalogue companies are Kleeneze or Avon. Do you have any of these in your country?
