Employee gift ideas?

A month ago I was promoted to Human Resources. The old HR did little to boost moral and gave little recognition to the employees. I want to do something for them to know they are appreciated. I figured I should do something special for them on Thanksgiving. My problem is the fund only allows so much money, comes to about a dollar per person. This is not much to work with. I am willing to ad a little money of my own. My question is what cheap thing could I do to say thank you? I was thinking maybe a goody bag with a pen, a little candy a note, and a novelty. What do you think? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
