First Tarot Reading...

I just did the shuffling and cutting of the deck, and selected one card. My question was... Will I ever own my own home? I got The Tower My first thoughts were, WOW! I ask about a house and a get a house type card. I'm gonna be good at this, he he I open the book & read what the book had to say... "In some ways this is the hardest card in the Tarot." and the rest of it, but to me, I did not find it dark (ok, so maybe I am foolish, but to me, it was not dark at all, it was very bright for me!) I felt wonderful, like it was the perfect card for my question, and for that time in my life! I was wondering if any of you remember the first reading you did for yourself? Did you use a spread? Do you remember your question? Do you remember the card you got? Do you remember what you thought your reading was? How did you feel about your first reading for yourself?

i have started reading my own tarot... and sometimes I am pretty confused... I am going to start trying to meditate and do the tibetan rites, and tap in to my own psychicness a little more... but I am a little nervous about it, cause I don't ever want to become too psychic, and see stuff I don't want to... sometimes ignorance is bliss, and I am pretty blissfull...

but to me, I did not find it dark (ok, so maybe I am foolish, but to me, it was not dark at all, it was very bright for me!) theres nothing wrong with that and its not the least bit foolish..You ahve to remember that the book is ONLY A GUIDELINE..what you truly feel in your heart and more so in your Core being is what counts. was wondering if any of you remember the first reading you did for yourself? I do remember somewhat..it was many yrs ago so its a bit hazy at this point....I did a Celtic Cross spread, without a specific question (to this day I dont do specific questions)..and though I of course dont remember all the cards that came up in the spread I DO remember that it was extremely accurate which was a bit creepy for me but that creepiness was very short lived once I clued in to my history when it comes to the occult etc etc.

The Tower is quite a dark card but tarot reading is all about your interpretation of the card and if it seems apt it is. It is difficult to read for yourself as it's hard to get a unbiased view of them. A good way to get familiar with the cards is to meditate on them. I don't remember my first reading as it was quite a while ago and I've asked so many questions of them.

A good way to get familiar with the cards is to meditate on them I was told that a few times back in the day but to be perfectly honest, I just couldnt get into it..It was like it hindered me really..so I never continued on..I'm more of a go with my gut kinda gal though and have been all my life in all areas..BUT for those that works with or would work with (meditating on the cards) I say have at it because IMO whatever works best is the best choice

Well, I am completely new to all of this, but I do think my gut feelings is going to be the best way for me. I have never been that good at meditating to begin with, so I am thinking that would just get in my way.

If you ask me, A Tower card with the question of getting your own house, means that your plan for your dream house maybe changed by some accident which is totally un-expected. Maybe you find yourself love a new car than your own home when you have enough saving? Any, Tarot is very interesting, but I couldn't remember my first reading.....
