Which soup do you prefer and do you have more then one? Do you prefer canned soup or homemade soup? How do you make yours?

My favorite (which I can eat every day of the week) is Chicken Noodle. I make it at least once every two weeks. If I make it any more than that, I will get fat. Only because I could eat the whole batch. And I always make it homemade. I have it down to a science. I can whip up a homemade batch in 1/2 hour. Yum.

I use chicken tenders (because they are easier), saute them up put them in a pot with water, add chicken boullian, chopped up carrots, celery and parsley. Cook that till the vegetables are done. While that is cooking, cook your noodles, and I always use the big broad noodles. When your vegetables are done, add noodles and eat. Sometimes I throw in some rice with it too.

My family likes homemade soups. Green pea or lentil with sliced hot dogs in it and chicken, vegetable with rice soups

I use the same ingredients for both soups. First make the dried split peas or lentils according to the package directions. Add chopped onions, meaty ham hocks and a couple of ham bouillon cubes according to the amount of liquid you add. Simmer for a couple of hours then slice a packet of hot dogs into rounds and let simmer another 15 minutes, salt and pepper to taste. Serve with crusty French bread.

I like a nice thick vegetable and chicken soup, it's very hard to find a canned soup that is not too runny and has a nice selection of vegetables inside. I do prefer the homemade soup because you know what's going into them and they can be loaded with vegetables and nice and thick. A thick soup is far more preferable, so many tinned soups are runny and like gruel. I will be eating soup again soon to warm me up.

Wolfie, I have bought the more exspensive canned soups and I got them home and guess what....mainly broth hardly any vegetables or meat.I cant see how they can charge so much for just broth.! Yor right, its better to make your own. In many cases, they are just ripping us off!

Even the big branded names you still find that it's all broth and there's hardly much in the way of meat or vegetables!

hehe now that I live in Florida I don't have any cold winter days but I still do love soup! I like to make a homemade chicken soup when I have leftovers from a chicken dinner the day before. I also love a nice veggie soup. I experiment with different ingrediants. I just saw a recipe for potato soup. I have never tried that. But was thinking it sounded yummy and may give it a try in the future Another one of my favorite soups is tortilla soup.. It is a little on the spicy side and satisfies my craving for something Mexican. The best thing about soup is that is very filling and good for you. Not to mention also tastey!

My favorite soup is vegetable soup!! We make our own and usually put every veggie we like into it. Plus we make sure we put in plenty of fiber, like garbonzo beans, kidney beans, etc. We use diced tomatoes but instead of tomato sauce we use V-8 vegetable juice. If we put meat into it, we just get a beef roast and cut it up but here lately we haven't put meat into it at all and it tastes great. I like canned soup too but home made is my favorite by far.

Actually I am a fan of soup too. I like both type of soup, canned or home made soup. Here in my country there are about four different types of popular soup. They can be found almost everywhere, and the most are in seafood restaurants. These restaurants usually opens from 6 pm until 2am every night. The soups are chicken soup, meat soup, mutton soup and cow's tail soup. I like the cow's tail soup the most because it is very tasty and the meat is tender. Secondly I like the mutton soup. If to prepare the soup from the kitchen I would boil the meat first until it is soft and tender. Then add in the fried onions, ginger, salt, seasoning, soup pouch, carrots and potatoes. Then add soup leaves with fried onions on top while serving. I also like mushroom soup but usually I will just buy it from the stores because it can be easily made. Just pour hot water on it, stir and I can enjoy the soup within a minute. Furthermore the cost of preparing mushroom soup is much more if cooked from scratch in the kitchen. Buying the instant mushroom soup costs only RM3 and I can get 4 packets of soup which means I can eat 4 bowls of soup with very little cost and effort.

They tend to put too much salt and not enough meat or vegetables, in the canned soups. If you want a really good soup, I am just making it myself. You know whats in it and you can put what you want in it. The charges here for what you get is terrible. The prices went up but they didnt add any more ingredients .I really like soup too but I think that they take advantage of the consumers.Appreciate your response and happy my lotting!
