Was anyone else a little disappointed by this movie? I was really expecting alot more out of it and maybe it was just me.Was this based on truth does anyone know?

Yes. It was so pointless and it had the stupidest ending. I heard that it is somewhat based on a true story. I heard that in some small town somewhere, a person knocked on someones door asking for someone who didnt exsist and that night a bunch of abandoned houses were broken into that night. But noone was ever hurt.

I liked the fact that they didnt show his face. Scary mysterious. Actually I thought that the killers anonymity was the best thing about the movie. Good ideas, just didnt do a good job at applying them.

According to production notes, the film is based on a real event that occured during director Brian Bertino's childhood in which a stranger came to his home in the middle of the night asking several times for a person who did not exist. The following day, his family was informed by police that several houses had been ransacked and burglarized the previous night by an unknown assailant.
So the whole show was not based on true events just some of it.
