I love salsa and chips and usually buy the salsa in a jar.
I have been wanting to make my own salsa..
It just seems using fresh tomatoes would make it ohhh so much better..
I found a few basic recipes online but would like to try something with maybe a little bit of a different twist or a secret ingrediant that makes it stand out from other recipes..
Do you have a Salsa recipe that is out of this world and are you willing to share it??
Also have you ever made the chips yourself?
I am guess I would use corn tortillas and maybe fry them in oil?
Not sure..

Here goes: This is from my Co-worker Cindy, therefore, I call it Cindy's Salsa...
1 large onion diced
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can diced tomatoes
1 (10 oz.) can diced tomatoes with chilies
1/4 Cup sugar
1 Tbsp hot sauce
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
Put onion in a large bowl with 2 Tbsp. water. Microwave 4 min. Add green pepper, microwave another 4 min. Add the rest and microwave another 4 minutes. If you don't like salsa hot, cut back on the hot sauce. If you cut back too much, add a little more once it's done. I hope you enjoy it.

I like homemade salsa. I can't eat the jarred stuff because I'm allergic to peppers. I use tomato, onion, garlic, parsley, sugar and MSG. Just a pinch of sugar to bring out the sweetness of the tomatoes and half a pinch of MSG also for the tomatoes.
