Are you a "regular" at a local restaurant, coffee shop, or pub? Do they all know you by your first name? Do they even know what you will order? My husband and I were becoming regulars on Thursdays for lunch at a local restaurant. We were getting to know the staff there and it was really kind of fun. How about you? Are you a "regular" somewhere? Where?

We used to be, before we moved in March. A little restaurant in Rushville, IN called the Country Cooker. It was great to go in and feel like you were friends with the owners and workers. When we told them we were moving they gave us 2 of their custom made cups they use there. It meant alot to us to know that we had made friends.

NO, I am not. However,my daughter works for a small restuarant and she has a lot of regular customers that she knows by name. They all seem to like her and she is close to a lot of her customers. I am glad that there are still places like that in this busy, crazy world.

rocketj1, I am almost a regular guy nowadays. When I travel, the moment when my travel arrangements are made, everyone seems to know me from the travel agency right to the airline companies. I suppose that's because of my stored up profile. All thanks to them, mundane questions like seating preference, class of travel and meal preference are avoided. All that is required of me will be my schedules and destinations. Then when I arrive, the limo, car rentals and accommodation will again be there at my disposal and at my preferred preferences as well. I just cannot help but feel a little pampered and recognized during these times. It also helps me to adjust to my work schedule and reduce my homesickness stress sometimes. I am just glad to have that home away from home kind of feeling. Even at overseas some of the eateries, pay attention to their regular customers and I have many wonderful places in USA, China, Australia, India, UK and Singapore where they will remember me even though I may have been away for sometime. And you never know how grateful I am when they will just help me out when there's a crowd and the place is fully booked. They have never made me wait for more than half an hour and always so cordial. Drinks on the bar, discounts on their specialties and etc., I just feel so gratefully spoiled at times.

No we are not that regular o a particular restaurant but we sometimes eat on this oyster restaurant and I think the kids made an impact tot the crews, they knew that the kids always order this soup and that, though we are not on a first name basis , they do remember us even if our last visit was long ago.

When I was in college, we use to do that. We have this certain restaurant that we often visit because the staff are very polite and friendly. We also have our regular meetings there and if we just want hang out and have a good time, we also go to that place. But now that I'm back in the province, I not a "regular" in any place anymore.

We always go to the same place and I have worked there for ten years. So everybody knows us. we like the people, the atmosphere and the prices are the best in town. It is the local VFW.
