"I'm addicted to clairvoyants"

I shouldnt have done it. It wasn't at a good place in my life - a bit depressed, vulnerable, rundown - and thought an insight into a brighter future was exactly what I needed. I'd seen clairvoyants in the past and although not everything they'd predicted had come true, there were enough bullesyes to make me believe in the medium. I was looking for answers in just about every areas of my life. In hindsight, I realise I put too big an expectations on the reading, I believed a psychic was going to sort out what had taken me years to create. Much of what she told me was positive, but it was the insight into my relationship that freaked me out. She said the man I was with (who I love)was not the right one for me and that I'd leave him to marry a blonde Englishman. Looking back I see how ridiculous it was, but at that time those words had so much power. I wondered how could this be? I love him. My relationship had taken some hard knocks in the months leading up to the reading and hearing that we were doomed was enough to push me over the edge. What made it worse was that some of the things she predicted began to happen. I started to take it out on him and the reading consumed my thoughts. Every time we had an argument, I'd hear her in my head. Eventually, I went to see a counsellor and she helped explain how damaging it is to allow someone else to speak on behalf of your own life. There is no way I'd ever see a clairvoyant again. Have you had any such experience?

I have never been to see a medium or clairvoyant. I know people who absolutely believe in these and in their astrological chart. I have never really let any of these things affect me. I was told once by an older neighbor (who claimed to be able to read palms) that I have a very long life line and would live a long life but that a bad health issue would keep me down for years also. This was when I was very young, over 20 yrs ago. Interestingly enough I have always been a healthy person, but did have a cancer scare and treatment almost 4 years ago. I thought of this person after that and had to smile! I prefer to believe in my own intuition.. listening to that "little voice" in your head that says this is wrong, right, or good or bad, etc. :-)

I think it is just foolish consulting a medium. I spend lots of money with nothing in return but heartaches and sorrows the moment I leave the 'consultancy'. Could I have invest the money I would now be reaping good returns.

Uh, Zandi Think about this, if everyone of them can really see the future, why haven't they all won the lottery? Don't they "know" the winning numbers? lol Sadly, some with a "touch" of this gift have turned this into a rip off art to hassle others with. I truly hate that this happened to you. It kind of causes you to feel like you are "always waiting" for what they predict to happen. Take your life into your hands and live it the way you choose to. "Whatever will be, will be"

After under going from one medium to another I found they all have one thing in common - money and is not cheap to consult one, their fees are more than what the medical doctor charges!

I wish to address this question.Seeing the future is not a gift of becoming rich from it. I see things and know things but can I pick up a lottery slip and pick the winning #'s? lol I WISH!!!!!!! {smiless} Maybe there is someone out there that can but to my own knowledge, if they did, they kept the secret of wealth from me. I do agree with you that TOO many took this and made a false living off of other peoples problems. Being a seer does not give you the right to go out and charge people to read what you already know. Kind of unfair I think. I have read for friends and family and a veryyyy small # of casual aquaintenances. I have NEVER asked for any type of payment nor would I even think it. A "gift" is something givent to someone free and since this is a gift {most of the time} then how does one charge another for what they have recieved free? You just DONT... By the way, if you should find one that can read the lottery #'s,pleaseeeeeeeeeeee send them my way. I buy a ticket a week and have yet to win more than 3.00............................. Always, Darrel

I once ran into a very special lady who I had heard was a "clairvoyant". In a weak moment, I also asked for her advice. She told me that sometimes she could get a sense of something but not all the time. Anyway she told me a couple of things which I thought -no way that's gonna happen, and they did within the year. She didn't tell me much, but I do remember that when I offered to pay her, she wouldn't accept and told me that it was a "gift" she sometimes had access to and that charging for it was just not right. Anyway, I donated the money I would have given her to charity and have never been back to a clairvoyant since. I think it's just a mind game, by some people who know how to get into your head and have you beleiving all sorts of stuff. Good luck you to!

Hi zandi, It sounds to me like you found a medium that was more interested in your money than someone who was for real. From what I understand, the real ones won't necessarily give you a negative reading. She must have seen how down and out you were and hit the right buttons. I hope you are doing much better now. Just try to remember that we all hit those bumps in the road and some of them are real pot holes. But once we get passed them, you are a much better person because of them. The pain we suffer really does make us stronger. Take care of yourself. leenie

i think the medium are 'experts' in looking at the face of a troubled person as only people with problems come to see them and they jump on the chance to pocket some money from this unsuspecting customer.

Next time you're in the mood to throw away your hard earned money, I'll give you my address and you can send it to me. I don't think my 8 year old daughter will be having much of a Christmas this year. Gas, food, and utilities have gotten so expensive that there is nothing left at the end of the mnth!

I believe it's all a sham. Yes they get some things right but that's just because the predictions are so general and would fit the persons interpretation. The reason your reationship did start falling apart was because you believed it was going to. She'd managed to convince you it was going to happen and it could so easily have come true. I'm glad you got couselling before you let her 'prediction' ruin your life. I once went to a fortune teller that told me I'd be a popular aunt but would never have children myself. She also said I'd live in a lot of different places in my life! I was already a 3 time Mum. She lived near an RAF camp in the South of England and I had a Northern Accent so it was a pretty good guess wasn't it! I discarded everything else she told me! Some of the things came true but nothing I couldn't have predicted myself!

No, because i never believe them. it's either by chance or just plain scam to me. it's very risky most specially they would require you a large sum of money.

That is very true. They do it purely on business.
