Hi everyone Do you have dialup internet service? If you do, are you planning go to high speed, and if so - why? I am considering high speed myself, and am interested fo find out the benefits, other than just instant access to the web, and speed. Thanks for your comments.

Dial up, wow, yall still got that? I left dial up alone awhile ago, I say in 2005! Got high speed n never turned back, man this is slow enough, but dial up, oh no, never again; don't care how free it is! Taripre$

I also am using a broadband internet connection. But I also tried using dial-up when we do not have a broadband yet. It was so slow that I got tired of using it. Then, my sister just connect to the internet via dial-up when she uses Yahoo! messenger. I couldn't take it! . I stopped using it and just rely on the internet in the office. Finally, when broadband service was already available in our area, I applied for it and we are using it until now, except, my sister couldn't use it anymore because she is already overseas.

Thanks for all of your responses. I hope to switch to dsl after the first of the year sometime. Right now my dialup 'is' slow - but it's cheaper - only $10 a mo. DSL starts at about $15 or more. One of our cable compamies here has it at a higher rate as well, but - you have to sign a 2 yr. contract. I don't want to do that. So will go with a different one. Thanks again for all of your comments.

I have used both dial-up and broadband. One thing that really bothers me is that P2P clients like bittorrent and emule never worked with my dial-up connection.

I'm using adsl ,the download speed is about 70kbyte/s.dial-up is too slow to bear it.but if you don't have better choice, you have to take it,at lease you can connect to internet by that.

I have a broad band internet connection. Never tried dial up connections as the costs here are too high. Broad band and wireless connections are comparatively cheaper to dial up

Hi classycat, I have a wireless connection through a state provider. I have tried dial up connection but those are so expensive! well, in the time that I've tested, for 2 years I use it and trust me, its too much expensive. get yourself a broad band or wifi or wireless connection and forget the dialup internet service

Before i use dial-up prepaid cards, now i dont use it anymore fot it is time consuming and very very slow to download. I change to dsl for almost two years now, it is 7x faster and you can save so much time in doing it.

I have had both. I down load a lot of files. Dial up takes so long to down load things it can take forever. With Broad Band it only takes a few seconds up to a minute. I have a cable connection.
