I wish the Blazers would. They are my hometown team and will have Oden. And I wish the Suns would, sentimental favorite, but without D'Antoni I dont think they can. I'm thinking the Hornets may pull it off, but the Celtics will be hard to beat. What do you think?

The Los Angels Lakers will win the Western Conference and they will face the Boston Celticis in a re-match from last year Finals. The Lakers are unstoppable with the addition of Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza and the Lakers are a much deeper basketball team than last year team that lost to the Celticis 4-2 in the Finals. The Lakers will win the Championship in six games.

I wrote in an earier basketball discussion that this is what I think will happen. I think that there will be a rematch with the Celtics and the Lakers because they are the two best teams in the league right now. The only teams that might stop them are the Suns and the Pistons. I think the Celtics will repeat, though.

strongest contenders: 1. Boston - still the best, in my opinion 2. LAL - very very deep team, and with the talent they have, they could win it all. 3. Detroit - The addition of AI brings new motivation. 4. NO hornets - MVP chris Paul, David West, Chandler, mo pete, peja.. the pieces are there. The only thing they lack is playoff experience 5. Spurs - perennial contender. they won it every other year, this year may just be their year. their bad start hardly matters 6. Houston - my favorite team, the only flaw they have is they have troubles staying healthy. Once all are healthy, they are sure to be a force to be reckoned with. 7. Utah - young team, they are capable of winning it all with booz and deron. 8. Phoenix - still a contender. 9. Toronto - maybe they'll go far this year if JO finds his rhythm and chemistry with bosh. and with calderon at PG, they make it far. 10. Cleveland - LBJ wants to prove something and the king might just pull out a miracle

hi dan. i really hope the blazers do well this year as well. i think they have a shot at the play-offs as long as the team stays healthy. this early, oden is out for 2-4 weeks with an injury, i think it's a strained ankle but the time off will be important since it takes away the time for oden to blend well with the team. the blazers are good already with aldrige and roy and with oden providing an inside presence, i think the team can do well and post problems against other teams in the league. they got a big win against the spurs in their last game and it bodes well for the team early on. the blazers also have a good bench with blake, fernandez, and przy. i think the important thing is for the team to develop poise and confidence especially in finishing games. as long as they give themselves a shot to win the game, i think they will do well. last season, the team lost a lot of games that were deciding by 3 points or less so that says a lot about them. anyway, i think this will be a good and competitive season. the west is still great with almost all teams getting better while the eastern teams did build up their rosters to catch up with their western counterparts. i know the celtics are sentimental favorites to defend their title but i think this year will be different. everyone will be gunning for a win against the celts and expect everyone to step up their game when they're up against boston. anyway, good luck this season. i'll be rooting for your trailblazers as well. cheers!!!

Boston should run thru the East...but Detroit will be as tough as always. Toronto couls be a wildcard with their recent additions, but they could just as easily finish 7th or 8th as 2nd or 3rd. West...anyone thats not the Lakers. :P But seriously, West is a tough call as about 5 or 6 quality teams could come out of it. I'll pick Boston, but if Boston doesnt make it out of the East than a West team will win for sure

Everybody has there favorite. The Spurs can be knock out that easily as long as Ducan will be there. Eventhough the whole team is getting old already, you still can disregard there team play and experience. Hornet has a sensational point guard in CP3 who can distribute the ball and make plays even for himself.Houston added dept and experience with Ron Artest. As long as Kobe hhas its MVP performance the Lakers will be in contention. Boston still has its Big 3 so count them there in the playoffs. Sun could make it still if they do added defense in there repertoire, with there new coach.I don't think they would miss D'Antoni if they would be able to work with Porter. As for me Im still routing for Deeetroit basketball.
