Lose your temper - $100 fine

I think Super Nanny needs to come by and slap my husband around a bit. Every weekend, ask the kids to clean, no cleaning. Ask the kids to clean, no cleaning. Lose temper at kids and terrorize them into cleaning. They're kids! They need reminders, and not just a comment in passing and expect them to do it, they need somebody to get straight in their face and say now it's time to get going on this! Instead, before I even know he's frustrated, boom, explosion. So when I ask him, "did you ask them nicely first?" "Well I asked them yesterday and they didn't do it." So I ask, "did you ask them nicely today?" Boom. Explosion, got my head bitten off. So he's downstairs barking orders at the kids and getting them upset, while I'm cleaning upstairs. I calm them down, send them downstairs to ask him what else they can help with and eventually the storm passes. He takes the kids out to lunch while I watch figure skating. So, when the skating's over, I went and got lunch and went shopping. $90 shoes plus some knee highs. Later he says to me, "you handled that just right." And I said, "glad you approve. Every time you lose your temper it's going to cost you $100." Then we had a nice long discussion about how we both could have done things better. sheesh....

Lol....I love how you said every time you loose your temper it will cost him 100 bucks. Thats clever. I could use Super nanny from time to time. Or maybe possibly wife swap to teach my kids and husband a lesson. haha! Have you ever thought about filling out and trying to be on one of their shows? I have I know super nanny was taking appilcations for my area. But I was in the process of a move.

Super Nanny actually contacted us in their first season. We were at a mall and my kids were running around not listening and somebody took our phone number. When I talked to them and was telling them about my kids as soon as I mentioned that my son has autism, he cut me off and said they weren't dealing with any kids with a diagnosis like that. Ironically, in their second season they did take on a family with an autistic child. And now, honestly my kids are nowhere near out of control enough to be on that show!

Wow, that's harsh. I can't believe they wouldn't let your family have help from Super Nanny because your son has autism. That's just wrong.

I agree that is alittle harsh for a reason not to beon the show. Than later they allow someone that was same on the show. That doesn't make since. Unless alot of people started to complain.

We just didnt get to do anything if we didnt have our chores done. You cut off the money and the fun untill the work is done. You dont give in at all. It usualy works and it dosent take long.

Yeah well if he tells them to turn off the tv and the pc and the gameboy right away and stands there and makes sure they do it, that works. Which is what I told him in our discussion. Just telling them to clean up and then walking away and expecting they'll just hop to it doesn't work.

Living with temper is a lousy way to live. Adrenaline always has an effect on me and when my wife has a rush of adrenaline going on I tend to get affected by it. I don't like it. I have to admire your way of handling it. Cheers!!

I don't like it either. Hopefully we can work better to help him keep it under control more!
