A very special meal for a very special guest...

Dining with the Lord.. - Have you ever think of inviting our Lord to join us for a very special meal? How would you prepare for it. Have you ever think of having him at your house and share with you His blessings...I wonder.

Once there was a poor woman who is devoted to God and would always prayed for the glory of God.But one thought occurred her mind, petitioning the Lord, to come to her house and have a very special with Her, which she will prefer. The Lord graciously agrees to visit him the following day. With much enthusiasm and praise, for that very special guess, she cook a very special meal and patiently wait for Her Honored Guess. After just a while, an old beggar suddenly knocks at her doorstep who ask for some food to eat. Being a woman of God, she greatly shared Her dinner with the beggar. The beggar ate just about everything she prepared and did not even saved a thing for her guest. Nonetheless, she gladly went to the market for the second time with a lesser budget than her first meal, so she can still prepare a special meal for her awaited guest. After all the preparation, she again waits for the Lord. Then another old gypsy woman with no teeth knocks at her doorstep. She is deaf and spoke quite loud, she ask her some food to eat, and insist that any true believer of God would not deny her some food to eat. Though the woman knows that she had no more money to buy another set of meal for her awaited guest, she let the old gypsy woman dined at her table. Same thing happen, the old gypsy woman ate just about everything without nothing left for the Lord. Then left without even thanking Her. By now it was beginning to get dark.the woman's faith was so strong though somewhat distraught, she did not give up, and see if there was anything she could sell in order to buy more food for the Lord. She hurried to town with little silver cup that had been in her family for several generations, but she was willing to part with it for the great honor that God was going to bestow on her, the sharing of a meal. Late at night she rushed home to prepare yet a third meal. Once more she waited and waited until a knock on her door.Holding her breath she slowly opened the door to find yet another poor man in the guise of a wondering monk, in search of a meal. Again, she offered hospitality, with as much grace as could in her disappoinment. This man also ate what was set at the table and left after blessing the woman's kindness. Now it was too late, With nothing to prefer for her Guest, No money to buy foods, she got down on her knees, weeping such heart broken tears, she asked God what she had done wrong. Why had God not come to share at the tables as He promised? And God in His all divine compassion mercy, lifted the women off her knees and holding her close to His heart said, " My child, I enjoyed your hospitality so much that I came three times."Mirabai Chrin - author...

hi grace ... a very motivating story ... my opinion on the moral of this story - Never give up - God is always watching over his children - God is waiting for us to invite him to our home - God test our love and devotion to him - feed the needy and the poor is there anything i missed ? ? cheers

what a great story! thanks for the piece here as it makes one think about how they should treat others on a daily basis. you never know who you are going to meet! i once read a story about a man who rescued someone only to have him be rescued by the person he rescued some years later.

yes dcher913,it is a reminder to everyone that we should at least be generous enough to share our blessings not just to all our love ones. Our Lord don't like us to give favor to somebody and be mean to our little brothers and sisters. He is just and fair and He wants us to practice equality as well.
