This has been a fairly inactive month for me on the Lot. As my friends know, my dislocated jaw is causing no end of problems. Surgery is now scheduled for November 10, and I can hardly wait! When I'm able to come home from work and not get all doped up to handle the incredible pain, I'll be back to my favorite addiction -- you, my myLot friends.

Well, I know it can be hard at times to not be as Active in here as you would like, and when you have some Health issues going on as well, it makes it even harder. I know I have been really busy from time to time so I have not been as active in here a lot of the month as I would like as well. But I am in here as I can.
I too have Health issues that cause me to sometimes need to take a Pain pill and I know that can make it hard to stay awake to be able to post in here. I am also Diabetic so I know some of that can play an issue for me as well. But I will be Praying for you, and a Great outcome with your Surgery. myLot will still be here for you to post in as you find time as well.

Even if I can't talk, I'll be able to get back to myLot while I recuperate. That will be great. It's hard now because the pain is so intense. Thanks for the good wishes.

hi there...
i am praying that you will be able to use the time off to appreciate your little blessings, in spite of the pain. sometimes God uses pain in our lives for us to be able to appreciate the things we have and be thankful for them, in spite of our not-so-positive circumstances.
i remember reading something that Rick Warren said:
"Life is a series of problems. Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy."
we might say that we are "entitled" to happiness but our happiness here is in actuality only temporary. "This life is not all there is." in this life, we will encounter pain, we will encounter hardships, because our earthly life is just our training ground. how we deal with the "negatives" in our lives molds our character into the person that God has designed each of us to be..
:) happy myLotting...

Dreamleaper 17,
You're new to me, so you don't know I'm one of the most positive people there is! The only reason anyone knows I have a problem is because I can't talk properly, but even my students think it's cute for an old white-haired teacher to lisp! I miss my myLot friends terribly, but I'll be well before long, and back to dozens of posts as a change of pace at the end of each school day!
You're inspirational comments are appreciated.

Hey Sweetie,
I can't tell you how much I miss you!! It's really not the same without you. Maybe after your surgery, you'll feel more like joining us. I honestly don't know how you manage to work each day. That school should be paying you at home. They are lucky you didn't sue them right out of a job.xoxoxo

Unfortunately, the school system is self-insured and a government agency, so they can't be sued. Even if I quit my job, I can only sue for what they expect my future medical costs to be. After the first surgery, I was out of work for so long, I went bankrupt and lost everything! I can't take thatce again. If I couldn't talk, as was the case then, I'd just have to communicatein writing. :{
You'll hear plenty from me as soI can handle the pain. Meanwhile, I voted early to be sure I could cope with it, I've already written my substitute plaand gotten the kids to promise to cooperate, and I pary more than ever!
Be back soon!
ve,
Joanne

Check out my response to Mykl99, above, and you'll see how it happened. This will be the tird time the joints are being replaced, and I hope it will be the last. The surgeon says many people find regular shots of Botox keep it from happening again. I hope he's right. Meanwhile, it means more than I can say to get the good wishes of so many lovely people on the Lot!
