is rahul dravid the greatest batsman of his generation?

rahul dravid for me was a better player than lara or sachin or ponting at their peak. dravid at his peak was not only a scrapper but also a player who never threw away his wicket. dravid could frustrate any top class bowler and hence it would reflect on the teams field setting and that would reflect on the oppositions captain. Dravids 180 against Australia when he came down to bat at number 6 was not only a change in the right step for dravid but also for Indian cricket. Dravid remained the unsung hero when laxman scored 281 in that very innings , however dravid slowly but surely matured into a fine cricketer on his own in the presence of the so called " fab 4"

Yes he is the best.Just that people around him failed to recognize him.He has been consistent. He has played big inning both in and out of the country. He has won matches for India.Go by the record you will find Dravid better than even Tendulkar in some aspect.
