What kind of formal shirts look best on men?

I would say anything in a nice solid color, with french cuff so you can wear cufflinks with them. Something with pleats or some other nice pattern on it.

My husband likes short sleeves shirt with collar and the fabric is made from t-shirt fabric. He likes plain colored shirts without stripes. To him shirts with stripes make him look small. He wants to appear bigger because he is not that tall. By wearing plain colored (or one colored shirt) he can show the shape of his wide shoulders. I like him wearing this kind of outfit too, because he looks handsome and tall.

it actually depends on how tall or short the guy is...or how big, muscular, lean he is. plain shirts are for every man regardless of their body size
