If you are a Socialist you must be in heaven. No matter who win from the two big parties you got what you have always wanted. On one hand you have a candidate and his VP running around bragging about how they are going to renew spreading the wealth. What amazes me is everything that Barack Obama and Joe Biden wants to do has been tried but has not worked except created more poverty. If you do not believe me study LBJ and his war on poverty, all his war accomplished was more poverty. On the other hand you got John McCain how ran back to Washington D.C to give King Henry Paulson unconstitutional powers over 700 billion dollars. Also John McCain wants the federal government to buy up bad mortgages. It is bad enough that the President Bush is just as big of a Socialist as Barack Obama. For the first time in the history of America even including the years under FDR has the Federal Government own a sizable chunk of the housing, auto, banking and insurance industries.

You have a distorted view of what socialism is; understand all American political parties are right wing, with very little to choose between them. all the best urban

all American political parties are right wing, yeah right and I am the one being accused of distorting the view.

He's right, gewcew--the U.S. is a center-right nation. As Jon Stewart joked, Canada's conservative party is like our "Gay Nader Fans for Peace". Even centrists are accused of being "radical left" by conservatives in this country. So, gewcew--would you like to get rid of every socialist thing in this country? If not, what things do you think we should keep, and why? The above question, if you bother to answer it, ought to give a good idea just how much you know what "socialism" actually means.

I'm sure that FDR would be proud of what he has accomplished. But he couldn't have done it without the school system.

There you go again, pointing out the elephant in the room everyone was ignoring. Yes, both candidates are way too socialist. It is only debatable as to who is more socialist. That is not as important as the fact they both are.

And I thought that we were bad up here in Canada. I never liked socialism that much. It kills incentive, but we never had the Federal government own the banks and the federal government should not buy up bad mortgages because what happens is that America loses money, because you are the ones who have to bail them out. But if both parties are socialists, then who do you vote for and since Obama is more charismatic, then those who are into that stuff, will vote for him, especially those who do think the world owes them a living.
