Yahoo Messenger-Getting rid of free messenger?

Hi all!
I had just received an offline message from someone telling me that Yahoo Messenger is getting rid of their free service effective Nov 17th. Apparently they reached two million people and are going to delete a bunch of accounts. Does anyone else know about this? I haven't received anything officially from Yahoo. If anyone has any more information on this, please respond.

i just recieved the same thing saying that nov 17th yahoo was going to be deletin a bunch of accounts..i have not received anything from yahoo either.would like to know if this true or not?

I haven't received anything from Yahoo, but to be honest I don't really use their services anymore, So if they were to dump their free service, it would be of no loss to me, but I would imagine it would put another nail in their coffin.
