I remember when I was a kid, I used to make a wish with a falling star, though it is very hard to catch and also very seldom seen. I guess these are just for kids so I stopped making a wish with the stars but told my kids now the story of wishing upon a falling star.

I just wish that there is peace in my heart, my family and my relatives. For me a rainbow signifies the difference in the world, different cultures different religions different races. I really wish that peace reigns in this world.

I've never heard of making a wish on a rainbow - a pot of gold at the end, but not a wish. I've always been too surprised by shooting or falling stars to make wishes, but I have frequently said: "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight." Well, at least the first part anyway. I don't really hold to wishes, probably because I have such bad luck I never get them, but I like the little rhyme for the first star.

Weird as it may sound, but I'm the type of individual who grabs every opportunity to make a wish; be it rainbows, falling star, shooting star, first star at night, or even an itchy right hand. In fact, I also utter a silent wish everytime I put out the light on a candle. You may even find all of these funny but honestly, this is who I am. My husband used to consider this very strange but eventually, he got used to it. But in general, not all of these wishes are for myself alone. More often than not, I wish for my parents' longer lives, the recovery of a relative from sickness, safe trip of a friend, great health of our daughter. For my sake, I would wish for us to be able to fully pay all our outstanding monetary debts with loan agencies, individuals, credit card companies, and pawnshops. Even if others may claim that wishing on these things may not be true, I still go on with this habit because I don't see any harm in trying. Aside from this, I also ask for God's mercy and aid to guide and guard us in everything we do.

Hi Bombshell, I don't make a wish when I see a rainbow but I do thank God for his promise that all will be ok. I do wish upon a falling star though but we should never share our wishes but they are good ones. LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D
