Local ghost strories or legand

I imagine every town has it's own ghost story. I would love to hear about your local ghost. Where I live we have one told most. It's about a lady who lost her husband. When that happened she only had her daughter. She became overprotective and never let her out of her sight, except for school. When her daughter got older she begged to go to a dance. Reluctantly she let her go, but set a strict curfew. The daughter was late leaving the dance so she sped to get home. In her haste she ran into a tree. Her mom was so sad she spent all her time at her daughters grave. One day she carved a tree stump into a chair by the grave. She eventually died but never stopped visiting the grave. Many have claimed to have seen her ghost. I have visited the grave many times, but never saw her. On Halloween it is the hotspot for the town. The graveyard is in the forestry so that adds to the spooky atmosphere. Now that you've read about my local ghost, how bout sharing your story?
