On which will you spend more--food or clothes?

I'm just wondering how many people would rather spend more on clothes that food? Me, i would rather spend more on food--healthy or not, fancy restaurant or fastfood--than on clothes. You see, i have this friend who really spends a lot on fashion. She always wear the latest trends. But when it comes to eating or dining, the less she has to spend the better. Like, it's ok for her to eat canned foods or reheat leftovers of leftovers, etc. or not eat at all! I am healthy and i have respectable clothes, i guess, but i would always choose eating right than starving myself for a pair fancy pink boots. what about you?

I have always spent more money on food than on clothes. Now that the economy is so bad and I'm retired, I definitely don't spend money on clothes. I can't imagine needing to wear the latest fashions so badly that you would neglect your health. Can you talk to your friend about this? Coming from the standpoint of age, believe me these bad eating habits will catch up with her sooner than she thinks.

hi there! thanks for your reply. i have talked to her about this but i guess it still comes down to accepting the fact that we, my friend and i, are just different in some ways :-) i have reminded her about the health implications and i know she knows what those are. i am not giving up though. take care, friend.

I definitely spend more on food. I'm a work at home mom so I don't have to dress nice everyday for work. I like to keep my wardrobe somewhat up to date. But I don't go overboard when it comes to shopping for clothes. I am a bargain shopper when it comes to clothes. I will only by clothes that are either on clearance or a really good bargain. Now food on the other hand I spend more money on. I try to feed my family of 3 healthy foods. Healthy foods tend to be a little more expensive.

I spend more with buying foods rather than clothes because i already have lots of those!lol..i love buying different kinds of foods and love tasting those that are new to me. We usually have a food trip with my friends wherein we would eat all those that we like!

I spend more money with food over clothes.I buy myself a new blouse or pants once every 4 months or 5 months. But i do alot of dining out, going to fast food houses and eating eating eating. My parents told us that it is better to splurge on food rather that material things so im living what they taught me.By the way im just around 100pounds even though i eat a lot..

FOOD! We all know that scientifically food is the ultimate source of our physical strength next to water I suppose. My budget allocation for food is 100% higher than for clothing. Although clothing is of 75 % importance but it human can survive for a month or even years without new cloths but one for a month or maybe even a week without food in stomach.

I'm spending more on foods. I don't think I should buy new clothes all the time and sacrifice the health of my family. i don't want my family to eat canned foods or leftoevers. I am very particular with how I feed my family. I make sure I feed them with the right kind of food all the time.

I'll spend more on foods than with clothes, unless i have lots of money to be spent on both. Health is far more important that clothing, but of course we need to buy clothes every now and then, it's part of our needs.

I spend more on food than on clothes. Food has made me bigger which made it more difficult for me to shop for clothes. lol. Kidding aside, clothes are needs if you don't have much of them. But if you have enough I think it is extrvagance. If you have enough clothes, then maybe you should give more attention to what you should put inside your stomach first so that you can think more clearly before buying an expensive piece of cloth.

i spend more on food than on clothes. i know there are some people esp. some girls who would rather spend the last penny on clothes. following the fashions in dress not only need money but also time and enery but i cannot afford any of them. but i don't mean we needn't pay attention to our clothes. wearing appropriate clothes is also necessary.

Me i can just eaqually spend my money for both in either food or fashion or on clothes. If i want to eat something and if i can afford it then why not.I dont think too much about saving more money for clothes or saving more for food .If it makes me happy to do it and i like to spend my money for it then i always go for it. When i see clothes and i like to buy it and if i have enough money to get it then i wouldnt have to think too much coz sometimes chances to get the dress you like only comes ones in a while...

hi narvz. i remember that i made a resolve several years ago. to save up only for the things i need, enough for emergency fund, and then spend the rest of my money and have a good life. one can be thrifty up to a certain point but you should not be too thrifty you neglect to enjoy life. in other words, i am afraid to die rich but was not able to enjoy life, have a fantastic vacation, or eat expensive but delicious food and have good clothes! thanks and take care!

I like to eat good food and i want to spend more on food than anything else, good food gives makes me want to eat more and makes me feel good about my tasts, what i think is when ur really healthy and good looking then u would look good in a decent dress not necessarly have to be a lastest or a trendy one i do spend on expensive clothes and stuff but when it comes to food i eat the most delecious food and i dont see for the amount of money i spend on it for me the taste matters and the food matters and the clothes i wear are branded too but i dont buy them as frequently as i buy good and expensive food

hi friend, i guess im the same as you. i do spend more on food simple because i cant stand the sight of good food. In my opinion, its okay to spend more money on food because it gets into our stomach and having junk or canned food affects our health definitely. I do have respectable clothes as well but i would definitely not spend as much money on clothes than on food. happy lotting

For me, both are considered as basic necesseties/needs but it's very practical & wise to choose food than clothes...food is our life...without it are we still alive? food can make us live & love life as well...food is very important in our living...though, clothing too...but in clothing, even we just have less clothes but we could wash it & dry then we could wear it again...wherein food...once you've eaten it, that's it!
