You've probably heard the "8 by 8" rule - drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day (2 quarts, 1.8 liters) - but the amount of water a person needs varies depending on his or her weight and activity level. Another way to determine your specific recommended water intake is to divide your weight (in pounds) by two. The resulting number is the number of ounces of water you need each day. For example, if you weigh 150 lbs., strive to drink 75 ounces of water daily. For those who use the Metric system, divide your weight (in kilograms) by 30 (ex. somebody weighing 70 kg is going to need 2.3 liters per day).

I don't drink that much water in day because i'm never thirsty time and again, whats the use of drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water per day when you only get thirsty twice in a day? i only drink water when i'm thirsty, and i don't really get that thirsty during the day, maybe two or three times a day, Obviously because i cannot think of drinking water whereas i'm not thirsty, maybe if i set an alarm to alert me each and every hour is then that i may drink the recommended glasses But upto so far i think of drinking water when i'm thirsty

I drink the recommended 8 glasses a day. I truly do not drink much else but maybe a 12 ounce can of coke. I feel better for it and I am losing a few extra pounds. Plus my face is clearing up of nasty acne. I wouldn't drink much more than that though.

I try to drink water. Even though I prefer Diet Pepsi. *LOL* I need the caffeine! *LOL* Water is good for you though! It's good to drink it to be healthy! :)

It's definitely good to drink as much water as you can. Just don't force yourself to drink too much, if you feel really full or you're going to the bathroom constantly it's not a good thing. Eight 8 ounce glasses is the average, but everyone is different. One of the best things to do is substitute water for sugary juice or soda. They're fine as a treat, just don't get into the habit of drinking them because you're thirsty. Try to keep cold water handy so you reach for it first - it'll quench your thirst better than soda or juice and you save a ton of calories and sugar!

Water is the principal body component. It accounts to 60% of our body weight. It flushes out toxins out of vital organs and helps in carrying nutrients to various parts of our body.Lack of water leads to dehydration. We lose water through perspiration and while breathing too.You lose about 1.5 liters of water as urine output. And about a liter by perspiration. So we need to intake about 3 liters of water everyday. For ladies it would be about 2 liters everyday.Drink water, stay healthy.
