Anybody here knows that Paypal's technical support is in the Philippines? Their center is located in Eastwood Libis in Quezon City. I won't mention the company just to be safe but I used to work for that company. If I didn't leave that company I probably am still working for them . A few of my former teammates still works from them and a close friend of mine also knows somebody from the company so it was easy for us to contact them and ask questions. To everybody, what can you say about this?

Hi! I'm actually having problems with my Paypal account because they put it on limited status and have not lifted the limits even after I complied with their process. I just want to know how long it takes for them to lift the limits. Otherwise, I can't use my account for anything. I would appreciate any help. And thanks for this post.

They will lift the limits as soon as the month ends. Before they have a limit of 5 transactions now, they have a limit of $500 instead of a per transaction basis. You will see it in their FAQs

But Yuna that was in September yet. It is now the end of October and I still have not been advised that it has since been lifted. They never really responded to my several emails asking them how long the limt will be lifted. it's kind of frustrating because I can't use the account and I have some funds I want transfered.

That is very interesting, but I wonder if everyone's calls get forwarded to the Philippines or if only certain locations get forwarded. Nice to know a location of one of their offices, if not their only office.

That I don't know. But it's possible that they also have an office in other locations. According to one of the people who responded here there is another center located in Pampanga. A province here in the Philippines.

Hey there! It's good to hear that a major company, like PayPal, has chosen the Philippines to house their Tech support service. What position do you have with that company? Team leader? Well, it's sad that even though it's here in the Philippines we still can't contact them, by phone, for their toll free service is for foreign service only. That's what I think. correct me if I'm wrong. lol. We can only contact them through email. haist.

You are right. The number is for the US only. Let's just hope that they will consider to have one for the Philippines since there are a lot of PayPal users there. I just have an agent position when I was with the company.

. Probably because I know somebody who works there and a friend of mine was able to successfully withdraw his money from PayPal.

Yeah, and it's kinda amusing to see some responses here saying that it would be easier now to activate their PayPal account.

one more notable company having its BPO in the Philippines. I wouldn't be surprised though, but I really did not know this. Thanks for sharing! :-) Let me ask though, how's the service?

. When I worked for that company the PayPal account doesn't exist yet. I worked for them before but it's under the Dell account. I think most of you who responded thought I worked as a technical support for PayPal..

Your welcome vanities! There are actually 2 centers here. One is the one I mentioned the 2nd one is in Pampanga. I'm not sure what type of support they have in Pampanga. In Libis I'm pretty sure it's voice support. Thanks for the response!

hi yuna15! wow that is one great information to share with your co-filipinos. at least if we get to have problems with paypal transactions, it would be easy for us to know and ask questions with the paypal technical support in our own country. happy posting and happy mylotting!

Err not really. Phone support is only for US residents unfortunately but we can still send them e-mails. However, I don't know if e-mail support is also here in the Philippines. Thanks for the response!

The disadvantage is though, the toll free numbers is only for Americans. I hope they also have toll free number for the Philippines. We can only contact them through e-mails.

Oh I knew that, I have friends who worked on their support too and I guess not only one company handles the paypal tech support account (or I maybe mistaken) but it is just so weird right? that their support is based here and yet paypal is not that available here in our country, though we can open an account i paypal, it i still not widely used here in our country

Well that's probably the reason why they don't have direct support for Filipinos. Only a few people are aware of it. But in the near future they would probably will since internet access is easy to avail in our country. According to one of those who responded they also have one in Pampanga. By the way, do you know if they also handle e-mail support?

i'm not surprised because our country has embraced the BPO industry. in fact we also have Paypal account here in Clark, Pampanga.

Interesting, not a shocker! Many companies are doing this, so I guess it's ok. It won't change my perspective of Paypal, as far as I can tell, the service is still fine, thanx for the info! Taripre$

Yeah, I know! I'm an Avon Sales Leader and they outsourced through India! As long as it's not effecting service, I don't mind; Jobs are needed worldwide! Taripre$

wow! that's great! i think that is really an advantage for us filipinos. i never had thought that something as popular as paypal hired filipinos as their technical support representatives. isn't that something to be proud of?

It definitely is something to be proud of. Most of the time though the main reason why they outsource is because of the following reasons (1) Labor cost is cheaper (2) Filipinos are known to be patient. Technical support is a very stressful job.

another thing is that we, filipinos, are good in english communication.

For the company who owns PayPal itself, it's more profitable for them since labor cost is cheaper here in the Philippines. The advantage is if we know people who works for the company we can just directly ask them questions instead of calling them. . Thanks for the response!

Wow that is really amazing that the Paypal we used to know is having their customer service back here. But I guess they would talk in English even though they already they are speaking to a Filipino caller.

It actually depends upon the company. If the quality auditors of the company are foreigners then definitely they can't be allowed to speak in their own language. Which is what their doing in the company I work for right now.

thanks for the info yuna! i think this is welcome news for all of us paypal users here in the philippines. although, there is a possibility that the tech support here do not handle inquiries coming form the philippines. still, it's nice to know that a reputable company such as paypal trusts filipinos to handle their business. cheers!!!

The center is in the Philipines but the support for US residents. It's not really hard it's just that a lot of people are not aware of how to transfer their money to their account.
