Bad Habits

My cat is showing it's bad habits which I have no idea how to change with it being an older cat. I think the prior owner may have had the cat just as company and let her do what she pleased. Besides her biting and scratching me. She is still screaming when I attempt to touch her. She is now jumping into the sink and eating whatever food may be in there and she jumps on the table and goes right in my plate while eating. The water bottle does not seem to faze her at all. When I tell her no she doesn't respond she just does it again. She is also digging a hole in the mattress. What can I do?

Get rid of her. Change her diet gether some cat nip. Sounds likee she has autism or adds maybe she needs to get out more? Is she an indoor cat. Do the scratches itch? Happy catting! :)

Getting rid of the cat doesn't solve the problem however, if you can talk to the previous owner and see how long they've had her and what her habits were when she was with them then maybe you could get some insight into the cats way of thinking. Maybe she was allowed to eat on the table before she came to you? Who knows unless you ask the previous owner. Was she with the same person it's whole life before coming to you? Or did it have different homes? It could have separation anxiety in which will take time to overcome. What ever you do, be patient with her and try talking to her more than petting for now and over a period of time she should settle down. Try different types of cat food, dry and can in hopes to find the one that she likes and feed her somewhere other than on your table so she can get used to it.
