what do you love or hate about horror movies?

One thing that annoys me is, most of the movies I have seen as of late border-line into faux snuff films. I watch horror movies for entertainment and/or a good scare,not for repulsion. It's all been done before in the 70s; remember Last HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET and SNUFF? We need more focus on on plots and suspense-building and a little less on gore. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying take away all of the gore,just don't center the entire movie around it.I don't find this crap shocking at all. Already seen it,no matter how "realistic" you try to make your effects. What I love about horror movies is the intensity and the build up of emotions. Horror movies seem to evoke more emotions than most mainstream films. I like horror movies with imagination and a certain amount of intelligence. I will even enjoy a quite a few movies on the cheesy side. Mostly films that fit in the "It's so bad, it's good!" category. I will admit I like THE HAPPENING.I haven't had a great laugh at a horror movie since I watched SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT part 2.Now i would like to know what do you love or hate about horror movies?=)

I love a horror movie when it is really scary. I love following the story line and feeling scared and excited at the same time. I love it when there are a lot of suspense and my heart beats quickly because of the unexpected things that appear in the movie. But I hate a horror movie when it is not scary. I hate it when the movie which is supposed to be scary turned out to be illogic and look stupid. I hate it when the dialog is weird and dumb. If I ever watch a horror movie which is not scary, I feel like I want to ask for a refund for my ticket.

well ya you're absolutely right and i think the best ever horror movie is Scream in its 1st part only this movie have really a great shocking and scary moments and scenes. i wish we could see some movie like this one and there is also the happening it is rally great hey i am new here why don't u add as one of your firends here username: aymantawil =)
