Hi everyone! November 1 is nearing and it's All Saint's Day. In my country its a tradition to visit our dead love one's. Spend the day at the cemetery with every member of the family and relatives. Light candles and pray for our loved ones who passed away. But do you remember passed away relatives only during November 1? In my family we do remember them on their birthdays and death anniversaries. What we do is offer mass celebration for them during those especially events and make sure that we attend the mass offered for them. In some families dead loved ones are always included in the prayers for the dead. Where several people pray the rosary every night and their names are mentioned in the prayers. I don't know how this tradition started but it is good tradition to pass to the next generation in the family. What about in your country/family? Do you celebrate November 1? How do you celebrate it? How do you remember loved ones who passed away? Please do share!

I miss All Saints' (Souls) Day in the Philippines. I always enjoyed the family reunions and the remembering of those who've gone before us. Now, here in California, I don't really think of it much. I must admit I don't really celebrate it anymore. I just think of my aunt who has her birthday on that day.

Well, maybe you can offer prayers for them even you're at home. That would be a good thing to do I think. Happy mylotting!

I am not a traditional person, but of course, I do remember our beloved relatives who already passed away. When I am home, i just lit a candle and pray for them. Or sometimes if a friend will invite, then i'll join them in whatever celebration they do on those particular days.

Hi! In my family those relatives who can't come to November they also lit candles in their homes and offer prayers. But as much as possible we try our best to visit the cemetery during November 1. Even if we have to travel to our hometowns. Since it is also school break for students, thats the time families spends vacation in their hometowns. Happy mylotting!

Yes it is a good thing to do and I am proud of that tradition. I know not all countries have the same tradition but in any way they do it, as long as they remember their loved ones who passed away is still good. Happy mylotting!
