How Expensive is A Glass of Water for You Away from Your Home?

We pay Rs.6/- per Glass of water away from Home! - In India Water is normally offered as a mark of respect to Guests, But with the changing times we are purchasing the same from Market like any other commodity!

In India we are fortunate enough to have plenty of water and its abundance availability topeople for consumption. In cities and Towns, this is taken care by Municiple bodies while in Villages the Gram Panchayats are taking care! Inspite of all these bodoes some times people are using water from natural tanks, Rivers and Tube wells for the purpose of drinking! When we are going out of our places we can't get access to drinking water easily, especially in the Cities,In some restaurents also we are not provided with water along with food. Under such circumstances we are suppose to purchase water from the Vendors and depending upon the brand of the Company the price varies from bare minimum of Rs12/- to Rs.45?- per litre. That means we have to pay about Rs.6/- er glass which os about 1/8th of a Dollar! How expensive is water in the locality where you live while you are away from your home? Please respond! Thanks!

Where I live in Ireland,Sewage Water treatment and drinking water supply to homes and businesses is paid for by the rates charge levied on each home or premises by the Water services Company..having water available at the turn of a tap would have many believing water was free, but having paid a rates bill quite recently,I know it is NOT free! Restaurants are apparently under no obligation to supply you with drinking water when you eat there..it is a courtesy for their customers. No restaurant or business I've visited or am aware of here will charge you for a glass of drinking water-but prices charged for their bottled water and other drinks and services will factor their rates charges into the profit margin!
