Sorry, I called the wrong number

Have you ever sat down, picked up the phone and started to call someone who was on your mind, only to dial the wrong number? I did that this morning. The minute my pastor's wife answered the phone, I said, "I didn't mean to call you." Of course, she said, "Well, I'm sorry." But I told her I figured since my fingers dialed her number perhaps I was supposed to call her for something. The information I was calling someone else for was also interesting to her. So we talked about that plus other things about the church. And we got on politics, the topic of the day. We both had the television on the same channel with the candidates at their rallys. So we spent a little time on talking how the world is going today and why we need to pray for the election. I think perhaps my finger dialed the right number this morning instead of the wrong one. I may have wanted to talk to someone else, but the person I reached gave me encouragement that perhaps I'll need as the day goes on. So many things are happening in our world today that perhaps more of us need to reach the 'wrong number' more often.

Well, perhaps God had his hand on you then. :) I've done this many times. One time I actually called MYSELF and got my voicemail! LOL!!! I thought it was funny so I left myself a message. My mom calls me all the time thinking she called home (my sister lives with her) and she says, "Hope? Wait...what the hell?!" LOL! These mistakes happen a lot more often now that I'm not using a cell phone and have to physically dial the phone. :)

That is so funny. I have sat and dialed from my mother's phone, thinking I was dialing home. It would be busy and I'd wonder how since we have call waiting and nobody would be home. I'd chalk it up to someone else probably trying to get us, too. Then, on the second or third try, I'd realize I was dialing Mother's number since I dial it lots more than I dial my home phone. We'd just get a good laugh out of it.

That has happened to me before. I once meant to call my sister and ask her something, but accidentally dialed my mom instead. She was kind of offended when I told her. And the only reason I did was because my boyfriend was in the background wanting to know the answer to the question I was going to ask my sister. I was sad that she was offended, because I really didn't mean to hurt her feelings. Of course, when I explained the situation I think she kind of understood. I talk to my mom more often than I do anyone. Especially now that she has free long distance. So I think she realized it wasn't any big deal, and kind of dropped it. Hope you have a nice day!

I think we get in a habit of dialing certain numbers more often than others. Then, when we start to dial a similar one, we dial the most familiar one. But this morning, I was dialing a completely different area! The number was nothing alike. The minute I finished dialing the last four digits, I knew I had the wrong number, but she answered before I had a chance to hang up. So I just talked and was glad I did dial the wrong number.

I think everyone has had a time or two where they were going to call someone they were thinking about but ended up dialing the wrong number, which is sometimes very embarrassing especially if you do not realize you called the wrong number, and I know it has happened to me before, where I was going to call a friend, but I ended up dialing another friends number, which was very weird, and I know it had to be weird for the other friend to.
