Hurting people hurt people.

Is it true that people who have been hurt also inflict pain or suffering to another to make them feel better? They tend to hurt another because they don't have the capacity to retaliate to the one who have hurt them. They pick someone weaker or lower in position than them to be their outlet of anger or hatred or jealousy. This is not a good habit. I honestly admit that I am practising it before--taking revenge to an innocent person or piercing the wrong meat. But I thank God because He is renewing and teaching me everyday. He said in His Word, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come."

I believe that most people do this subconsciously. It is a result of sin in the world in general, but also a result of what happens psychologically to a person when they are hurt. They can retaliate (it's self-defense and almost an instinctual thing) or they can withdraw from the world into themselves. Either way, it's actually self-preservation. As a Christian, my mind is being renewed daily and yet I still live in this earthly body. While I am always striving to draw closer to God, I will struggle with my earthly tendency to sin until the day I die. It helps us though to look at concepts like the one you have mentioned, so that we can feel sympathy towards others around us.
